The old saying "You get what you pay for" has been proved again! All the features that are advertised can't be done at this low price. Look around --Have you seen these cameras in a COMMERCIAL store? They may sell them but they won't use them. The camera looks great, and we bought one just to see if the technology got better. It has for cellphones (low prices and quality) but not for this camera. First, the set up was designed for an electronics technician. This is not an easy setup. A handyman would have problems setting it up. You have to figure your time is worth something! The unit we bought would not connect to the router, so I called a computer tech at $80/hour. He brought in his testers and found that the camera was not "compatible" with our type of DSL connection. So we took it to another store to test. Well after 35 minutes we got a connection---or not. It took another 30 minutes to troubleshoot. Now for the test of the pan and tilt. Don't be in a hurry. you know those commercial security speed domes you see on buildings? Well this is a "slow dome", actually a wobbly slow dome. But it does turn...or PAN very slowly. SO we tested the tilt ability. Again, it moves like it has arthritis...creak creak. Now time to test the sound. NOT GOOD, unless you actually like clicks and pops and scratchy buzzes while someone is talking. Lets look at the video - thats why we bought this camera. Well, it does produce a video, but the color is out of whack. You must turn up the room lights to full brightness first. Now you can see, but the picture is jumpy. The picture gets jumpier and tends to jitter in and out as the camera truns or oans or tilts. What do you expect the ...Oprah show, for this money. This could be used as a science project toy for a 12 year old, but other than that it belongs on a late night TV informercial with the ShamWow. We found many other consumer type Pan and Tilt cameras from other manufacturers that work well. These other cameras were slightly higher in price, but you get what you pay for. Try internet searches for "self-networking cameras" and you will see many others for sale which will do what you want.
