Brita Slim Water Pitcher with 1 Filter, BPA Free, White, 5 Cup
This pitcher fits nicely in my small refrigerator. I use it mainly to fill my ice trays. Recently moved into a senior high rise that is 35 years old and was concerned about the water pipes. I feel like my water is cleaner and safer now that I use the filtered pitcher. I also fill my water bottle and save money and energy from those disposable bottles.
Brita Water Pitcher
Well, I just received my Brita Water Pitcher yesterday, so I can't speak knowledgeably about it, but in the hours that I've used it, it has turned my tap water into crystal clear water that tastes wonderful! I wish I would have known about this earlier! The only gripe I have is how LONG I had to wait to get it in the mail!
Perfect solution to my water problem
My Brita Slim Water Pitcher does everything I want and need. I know it's working because my water smells and tastes wonderful, instead of smelling and tasting like the stinky river water it is. The Brita Slim is uncomplicated, easily assembled and at a price I can afford on my Senior's budget.
Great Price for a 5-cup pitcher. Loving it.
Pitcher is a good size, for small family of 2 or 3. If consume a lot of water you might consider one with a larger capacity, since need refill often. Great Price for a 5-cup since when compare with the 6-cup, this is half the price (6-cup = $19.99) That makes no sense. you could purchase 2 of this pitcher for that price (Two 5-cup). Anyway, great little Water Pitcher, serve it purpose. This pitcher is narrow so fits into tight spot in your Fridge. Another good thing with Brita is -their filters are universal to all their pitchers, regardless of size. Made of sturdy plastic material, but am sure will break if not handle carefully.
Don't buy this model
Brita is great in general, but don't buy this model. Spend the extra few dollars and buy one with the feature they call, "easy fill lid." On this basic model, you have to completely remove the lid to refill the pitcher. By comparison, if you have a better Brita pitcher with the easy fill lid feature, you only need to press with your thumb and a portion of the lid opens, allowing you to fill the pitcher. This means you can complete the entire refilling process with one hand, while operating your faucet with the other hand -- if you have the easy fill lid feature which this model does not have. This model requires you to use both hands to remove the lid and set it aside, then fill the pitcher, then use both hands again to replace the lid, which is more difficult than you might imagine, because you have to fit one side of the lid first, then snap the other side into place. If the product descriptions here are not clear, the Brita web site has a product finder which can help you easily identify which models have which features. If you try and save money by buying this cheapest model, you'll end up spending more because you'll have to purchase a second pitcher with the easy fill lid feature, after you get totally aggravated with the cumbersome refill process of this model.
A Fair Pitcher
This pitcher is very annoying. The lid is not very secure, and as you start getting towards the bottom of the water, you need to hold the lid in place, and hope for the best. The filter will just fall right out. I purchased this for work, so I am careful not to pour the water onto a cup on the desk, but to hold it over the trash can in case there is any accidental spill of lid or filter. I cannot pour the 5 cups of water into the pitcher all at once, because it doesn't fit, and when the 5 cups are in, there is still room for one more cup, so I actually do 6 cups of water. The pitcher is not at all a good design. However, the price was excellent for a work pitcher of very good water. Therefore, it served my need - having great tasting water at work by spending as little as possible on the pitcher.
Did'nt get out of the Blocks
I did not buy this Brita water pitcher with much confidence because of so many reviews where people couldn't remove the reservoir from the pitcher. So as soon as I got it home I tried to remove the reservoir so I could wash the pitcher before using it. I COULD NOT GET THE RESERVOIR OUT OF THE PITCHER. I even tried using flat pliers to grip the plastic bars at the bottom of where the filter goes. It still would not come out. I did not want to damage the pitcher or the reservoir. I packed it back into the box and it will go back to Walmart. The instructions say absolutely nothing about how to get the reservoir out. Why does it have to fit so tightly anyway.
Good size for me.
I live alone and this is a good size and at $9.99 it was cheap enough for me. I've been using Brita pitchers for some time now but the filters are too expensive for me. The day after I bought this Adli sold theirs for $7.XX. Luckily they had filters too that fit the Brita pitcher at 3/$6.99. I bought 6.
Nice product for a nice price.
I drink water from a well and it usually both smells and tastes bad. I live alone and buy 2 gallons of water a week for drinking. I'm a senior and don't like carrying those heavy bottles. The water from the Brita Slim Water Filter Pitcher tastes great and has no odor. I've only had it for two weeks but so far I love it and don't buy bottled water anymore.
The filter compartment falls when pouring :-(
I had this pitcher a long time ago and it was perfect which is why I bought this as a replacement. The new one has issues with the fit of the filter compartment. It is so loose that when you pour the water the whole piece falls out. The cover has a real nice fit where if there's water in the compartment it does not spill out, but that's useless if the whole compartment falls over :-( Sorry I can't recommend this product. Gave it 2 stars because it does filter the water
I used to refill gallon jugs with reverse osmosis water from a local store but I am currently without a vehicle and couldn't continue doing that. This water filter uses regular tap water but when ran through the filter the water taste s just as good as the reverse osmosis water. The filter itself is good for two months, which would make the price about the same as the cost of two gallons of water I would drink in a week. About 80 cents a week. The five cup pitcher is only good for about one person though. If you have 2 or more people, you would probably want a bigger pitcher so your not constantly refilling.
I am very pleased with the purchase of this Brita filtered water pitcher. Any more it just seems like you can't trust the water that you drink, but since I've been using this product I now have one less thing to worry about. Every one should have one of these in their fridge and for the couple dollars that it costs, you shouldn't have any excuses.
Perfect for Dorm rooms
Purchased this product for my son for his dorm room since carrying a case or two of water a week from the store to the dorm room was getting heavy.. It fit perfect in his dorm refrigerator and he loves it! It saves us LOTS of money we would have been spending on cases of water.
essential for every day drinking
This is the 2nd oval Brita Pitcher we have. Have a round full size we keep ice water in the fridge for consumption. This oval one we keep on the counter next to the coffee maker and use the water for making coffee n tea. I filled the coffee maker and my electric thermos water boiler with the filtered water. The tea comes out very transparent n clear and taste better. My husband cracked our old oval one when he slipped it off the counter n fell to the hardwood floor. it cracked on the upper portion, but taping it with tansparent packaging tape, we were able to still fill it up with water, till we were able to locate n ordered walmart online. Can not live without them.
