I've been looking at buying an electric log splitter for quite sometime. And had been skeptical about there performance. With only 4 tons of force and being the smallest electric being offered I wasn’t sure it would perform. I was wrong, this thing split through some blackjack oak (red oak) that was 17 inches in diameter with no problems. As far as long-term abuse I've only used it once to split a half a cord of wood. And it was a joy. The only drawback is the manual. It hasn’t been converted from its original language (Chinese) all that well. For a better reading manual try looking up pow r kraft. One thing to note is to make sure you open the bleeder screw on the hydraulics before running the unit. It’s located on the wedge end of the unit. If you don’t open this valve it will no doubt blow the seals on your first use. I think if you do, as much searching as I did you will find that this same splitter is sold by different names for much more. And Wal-Mart’s free shipping to store for pickup is a great deal.
I was shocked to see the power this jewel really has! The manual tells about the bleeder screw that you need to open. but finding in on the diagram...NOT THERE> I read the other review to locate it, and everything is great! LOVE IT!!
