Amazing (Based on 2 Nights and 9 Miles of Use)
Overall, this pack blew my expectations away for a $50 product. It's loaded with features, and even the negatives about this pack are relatively minor. Everything that I am about to share with you is based on preparation and usage on the trails of the Emigrant Wilderness. THE GOOD: * This pack is surprisingly comfortable and highly adjustable. While my hiking partner was starting to complain about his shoulders hurting with his pack that cost almost double this one, I was still super comfy, with most of the weight on my hips, where it belongs. * The detachable lid that converts into a backpack is a touch of pure genius! It was extremely handy to have a small pack to carry extra things to the lake, like spare shoes, water filter, etc. * This pack is very roomy. I had no problem fitting my gear, including a large bear canister, into the main compartment with room to spare and all of the other pockets are well-situated for making my smaller items easily accessible. THE BAD: * This is not the lightest pack ever. According to my luggage scale, it came in at about 4 pounds, which is not great, but not terrible for a comparably sized pack. * The sternum strap pops off of the shoulder straps if you try to cinch it down too tight. * The central outside mesh pocket is a little smaller than I would like.
Has lots of compartments for everything. Very sturdy. Comfortable to wear.
Plenty of room
This pack is a great value. It has so much space to pack your items and it can be downsized for smaller bikes
Very good backbag, can put a lot of things inside. And there a plenty small pockets. And even though the bags is fulls, it doesnât feel burden when you put the bag on. And the material of the bag is burly!
Very nice backpack. Use for a couple nights on the trail. Roomy and comfortable.
Much better than expected!
Much better than expected! The material is super lightweight but very sturdy, it can hold up a lot of gears. I like how it has water bottle pockets on both sizes, and padded waist belt with zip pockets, very convenience to access small and essential items. Would recommend to friends and family!
A decent starter light pack
This is a decent pack for both beginners and for backpackers looking to transition to a lighter base weight. Here are some of the pros and cons... Pros: Mid range capacity (good for multi-day trips, but not big enough for winter outings); Mesh side pockets are flexible enough to accommodate a variety of water bottle sizes; The mesh back pocket can handle wet items that you don't want to mix with the contents of the main compartment; A separate sleeping bag section can be opened to turn the pack into one large compartment; the pack suspension height adjustable enough to fit a large range of torso sizes; The pack includes a rain cover; The pack lid is removable and convertible (turning into a small day pack), and the pack is hydration bladder compatible. And now for the cons: The padding on the shoulder pads and hip belt is minimal (if you get stuck carrying a larger load, this could make for an uncomfortable trip); The rain cover is not easily detached (I like to use the cover a dry seat cover when I need one); The detachable top pouch that converts to a small day pack has very limited use as a day pack and is really quirky as a top pouch; and, as noted by another reviewer, the pack strap/handle is made of a stiff plastic and can be annoying if you are of the wrong height (if that's the only thing bothering you, simply cut it off). So... some bad, lots of good. Overall, you can't go wrong for the price. If you are looking for something to take with you while you tackle a a thru-hike on the PCT, keep looking. But for us occasional packers, those just starting out, or even those folks looking to try lightweight backpacking, this very well may have been made just for you.
Good so far. It has survived one major hike.
Bought for my 14 year old son to use hiking up Pikes Peak. Adjustable. Holds enough. Seems moderately durable. I am curious to see how long it lasts with moderate to hard use.
Great backpack but on the heavy side.
Good materials and craftsmanship. Nice color. Useful pochets/compartments. The top pocket detached to form a day pack which I wasn't too fond of. Because of that feature, the actual pochet wasn't of much use. The weight of the pack was 4.2 lb, information which I couldn't gather anywhere on the internet before hand. It was too heavy for me so I ended up returning it.
I would like this backpack because it has everything to fill up. I would feel comfortable with thick waist belt and shoulder straps. Alao it has small backpack on top and it could use as a day backpack. But the handle on the top is HARD and PLASTIC!! It bothers me bady when it pokes on my back of neck or head. So i returned it back.
good quality bag
good quality bag with durable fabric. I did some research online and finally choose this bag because of the size and the things it can contain, I pack my stuff right away when I got it and they fit very well.
Large enough for 1 week camping trip and lightweight for an 11 year old.
Highly recommend this backpack! Spacious compartment for packing lots of stuff, easy carry and support my back very well. Affordable price as well.
Price amd quality both great
Very good design and good quality backpack. I have traveled a couple time using it. It could fit more stuff in different pockets. Loce it.
Lots of very useful outside pockets. Top section detaches for a day pack. comfortable with lots of adjustment options. Highly recommend.
