Soft good quality, perfect for your teens!
I received the Malina Jersey Cotton twin Sheet Set in exchange for this review. This set includes a flat sheet, fitted sheet that fits up to a 14” deep mattress and one pillow case in a pull tie fabric bag for storage. This set is made of a soft t-shirt like material. Decent quality for an inexpensive set. It would be great for a teen or dorm because it has the storage bag with it.
Soft, Gentle, & Cuddly To Sleep On
Since I have always slept in a t-shirt top this Malina Jersey Sheet Set was a comfortable surprise to sleep in. Although similar to my t-shirt, it was a totally different feel from my 100% cotton sheets. This Malina Jersey Queen Set was gentle, cozy, and more soothing to wrap up in. In fact it was super soft, almost like a microfiber fabric. YooHoo!
Also adding extra cottony comfort is that this Malina Queen Sheet Set is heathered for a relaxed and mellow feel against my skin. This sheet-set blend is 50% cotton and 50% polyester. The tag states that it is Algodon Cotton, which originally confused me. However, Algodon Cotton is the Spanish word for cotton rather than a type of cotton – the label is bilingual. The 50% polyester blend adds durability and wrinkle resistance, too. It also features stain resistance, making this a great choice for children bedrooms as well as for adults.
I noticed that the entire sheet-set stretches. The bottom fitted sheet snugly went over my 15” pillow-top mattress with ease. After three washings the sheets and pillow cases did not shrink and effectively held their shape as wrinkle-free. The label (located on the top sheet only) calls for a machimne wash on the 'delicate cycle, cold water, and mild detergent. I followed those instructions to the letter all three times. No pilling, loose threads, or fraying of the sewed seams. The label also calls for tumble-dry on low. However, I never dry any of my sheet-sets in my electric dryer. I always hang them on my clothes line to dry outside. I absolutely love the fresh, outdoor frangrance the sheets retain after drying in the Florida Sun. They are refreshing and luxurious to sleep on - WooHoo!
I highly recommend this Malina Queen Sheet Set for an invigorating change. This Malina Jersey Sheet Set is affordable, and will add a new level of cozy comfort dimension to your bed. Buy it, you won't be disappointed.
Better Than I Had Thought!!!
To be honest, this is the first set of jersey sheets. I have had flannel, but not these. I have no comparison to offer, but I can say that these are much more comfy than I thought they would be. Our local hospital uses the Jersey sheets, or at least they did when I had my last hip replacement. This might be why I never tried them at home. These are not the same thing. These are more "cushy" overall.
The label on these sheets states "softer than your favorite T'shirt" and they really are! But I don't think they are referring to the shirt I love, but don't wear outside my home. I think they mean my "good t-shirt". They are really soft!
I was very impressed at the double-sewn hems, and the well-sewn seams- I used to sew, and I know that this fabric is really difficult to sew.- they are very nicely finished!
I thought they might be too warm to suit my needs ( I usually go with a smoother fabric), but I think these will be great for any season, actually.
I have a 9 inch mattress, on an adjustable bed, and they work beautifully. I was impressed that they stay on the adjustable bed, even when the bed position is changed. These are rated for an up to 14 inch mattress, but I wouldn't go past that.
These sheets are 50% cotton, and 50% Polyester, but they really just feel like cotton. They feel really natural.
I recommend these sheets for current jersey sheet users, and for those trying them for the first time.
The way they feel actually exceeds my expectations.. They are so soft!
And this set comes with a jersey bag, so you can store them neatly away... very nice
Super soft, but runs short for deep mattresses
This light gray is not a heather. It's a lovely solid shade of gray that is not tinted blue, green or pink... a true gray. In other brands the solids are usually all cotton, but these are 50 cotton 50 poly. I prefer all cotton because poly pills over time. But so far, these are super soft and smooth after one washing and several nights of use. This jersey did not twist too much after washing, and is a decent weight too.
I have found that fitted jersey sheets are never long enough, especially for deep mattresses, and these are just as short. On anything except a twin, they always fit better when you put them on sideways, running the more stretchy width from top to bottom instead. Otherwise they never fit in length at all. And even though the length is supposed to be 20 in larger than the width on a queen sheet, these still never make it under the sides even when put on sideways. That is why I always buy jersey sheets one size up for my mattress that is 13 in deep including topper. The label says they fit up to a 15 in mattress…no. These fitted sheets are only 73 in long when stretched onto my bed and that is not near long enough. They should be 2 feet longer because this jersey does not stretch much in length and needs to make it down the sides of the mattress and tuck under as well. Then could put them on in the correct direction and the sides would tuck under too.
The flat sheet is short also- says it is 102 in but is only 93 in. It has a deep-hemmed top so I do put it on in the intended direction, however, I can only tuck about 2 in under the foot of the bed when placing the top just reaching the top of the bed, which provides only a small fold over. The flat sheets should be at least 6 in longer. Width is perfect though.
The pillow cases on the queen set are nice and long, so they can accommodate 28" jumbo pillows.
Summary- Nice and soft jersey sheets that will fit 4-6 in deep mattresses (with fitted sheet sideways on full-queen-king), but if you want proper coverage for a deep mattress, select a size up.
I got the Malina Cotton Jersey Bed Sheet Set in white for a twin bed. I have never tried the jersey sheets, nor was I ever interested in them. I decided to get these as a spare set of sheets, that way if I didn't end up liking them I can alternate. The package comes in a bag made from the same material as the set and contains: 1 flat sheet, 1 fitted sheet, and 1 pillowcase. The measurements are: flat sheet (66"x 96"), fitted sheet (39"x 75" x 15"), and pillowcase (20" x 30"). The material is made of 50% cotton and 50% polyester. The material feels like a cotton jersey T-shirt with a stretch. Due to the polyester mix I am accounting the sheets to be a little hotter than 100% sheets. I like the smooth and cool feeling of 100% cotton sheets. The material stretches ones it is used, like a shirt may stretch through the day. It doesn't make much of a difference on the fitted sheet, but I don't like how the opening of the pillowcase stretches and gets wider. They wash well, but I can see them over time getting lint balls (as most cotton items). I like that it can save it back in the bag that it came in, but they are not my favorite sheet set. They are a really good price and great for a low budget, but they aren't perfect. I like them for the most part and I will keep them as a spare set.
The Malina Jersey Cotton Sheet Set (3 or 4 Piece) is generously sized. It fits my queen mattress with gel topper perfectly. I use cotton sheets in the summer and flannel in the winter, but thought this would be a nice transition for fall. The packaging states that the sheet set is softer than your favorite tee--they are soft, but not what I was expecting with that claim. The material laundered well, but I will need a little more time to determine their durability. Overall I am pleased with the look and feel of the sheet set.
Good sheets for thinner mattresses
These sheets feel good but unfortunately our mattress was too thick for the bottom sheet to fit properly. Our mattress is approximately 17” deep and these just do not have that deep of a pocket. We were able to use them for a couple nights just to test the feel of them but the bottom sheet popped off in the middle of the night each time. The sheets did have some piling on them out of the package but a lint roller took care of that. I don't know if they will pill when washed as we didn't use them long enough to wash them.
they are good sheets, but..
these sheets are very soft and comfortable, they feel like your favorite t shirt you always wear. they are not too cool slipping in them at night on cold nights, like microfiber sheets can be. I got the queen size dark grey sheet set which includes the flat, fitted sheets and two pillow cases. the flat is 90" x 102". the fitted is 60" x 80" and the pillowcases are 20" x30". they are 50% cotton and 50% polyester. now when I first got them they already had some pilling on them, before I washed them, but I still gave them a full wash and dry. this company says that these sheets will fit a mattress up to 15 inches, but I really don't see how that is possible. I have an 11 inch mattress and these barely cover the sides of the mattress. and if I pulled too much the sheet itself becomes thin like and the other side comes up. and I found myself having a harder time putting these sheets on, as opposed to my microfiber sheets. so not so sure on the 15 inch mattress thing. although they are very nice to sleep on, if you have a thicker mattress these probably won't work and maybe be difficult putting on.
Not impressed with the quality of this sheet set
I first decided to wash the sheet set before putting them on my bed. The care label says to wash in cold water on the delicate cycle and dry on a low setting. I always wash my sheets in hot water, no matter what the care label says to insure they are sanitized. Upon removing these from the dryer there was about an inch thickness of lint on the dryer screen. The sheet fabric is 50% polyester and 50% cotton. I'm not sure as to how well these sheets will hold up in the long run, as I have only washed them once. But these appear as if they will get pilly, most likely because the fiber content is made from both a natural and synthetic materials which tends to cause this issue. These say they will fit up to a 15 inch mattress, but you can see from my photo that they don't stay down along the edge of my 12 inch mattress. I also didn't care for so much stretchiness in the sheets. They were not as soft as my favorite T-Shirt as claimed. I prefer a 100% cotton sheet and these did not meet up to my expectation.
Thin see through sheets.
Upon receiving this sheet set I was completely under impression that is set is 100% cotton, that was not the case when I opened up the package. The sheet material is very thin, almost see through and is very stretchy, it's the Jersey sheet set which is only 50% cotton and 50% polyester, which is absolutely not the type of sheets I have ever used or would ever use. The fitted sheet is deep and will fit the matresses up to 15". If you like TSHIRT feeling on your skin which is a so called Jersey sheets then this product is for you, I prefer only 100% cotton sheets that are thick and crispy, so unfortunately I will not be using this set , will probably have to use it as a dusting material to dust off my furniture.
Soft, affordable, comfy sheets
I love dark gray t-shirts, so what could be better than a set of sheets made of the same material?
I was sent this product for free in exchange for my honest review...so, here it is. I looked up the price of this sheet set and it's very, very affordable ($19-22 at time of writing). So based on that, I think these are pretty good sheets - they are soft and stretchy, and I think I'll prefer them in the winter over summer, but that's just personal preference.
The pillowcases seem to either be from a different run of the fabric (the color is slightly different), or maybe a better quality fabric. The fact that the color/shade doesn't match exactly drives me crazy (I like matchy-matchy), but I do like that they're softer and stretchier than the flat/fitted sheet. I think they'll hold up better.
Along those lines, I have washed the set once and the flat and fitted sheet are both showing signs of light "pilling", but the pillowcases still look great.
Other than the shade of gray being different for the pillowcases, I think I'd still be pretty happy with these sheets overall had I paid out of pocket for them.
Love these sheets! They are the comfort of sleeping in a T-Shirt only you are sleeping on them. They feel less cold than sleeping on a regular sheet, so they are perfect for the cooler weather but you do not feel hot in them. They washed very well and are very soft. They also do not seem so thin you can see right through them, but you will slightly. One thing I really like is how stretchy they are and how well they hug the mattress when you put them on the bed as you can see in one of my photos. I have a newer fairly thick mattress and the sheet covered it well. Everyone is different, but I prefer to use a regular top sheet as the T-Shirt material is soft and clingy, but you may prefer it. They also come in a pouch so that you can keep the entire set together when they are not on your bed.
I have had this jersey cotton sheet set for about two weeks. This is the first sheet set that I have had that is similar in softness to a tee shirt. Mine is a nice looking darker gray color. I was surprised at the comfortably soft material. All my other sheets are the stiffer polyester type. My mattress is a thicker mattress and the fitted sheet fits well and does not slip around. And the flat sheet is plenty wide enough to drape over the bed. I got the Queen Size Sheet Set. It came with a fitted sheet, a flat sheet and two standard size pillow cases. Fits mattresses to a depth of 15 inches. I have washed this sheet set three times since I have had it and it washes great and retains it softness. So glad I have this set now, especially since we are entering colder weather. Keeps me toasty warm at night and is just so comfortable. It really is like a soft tee shirt. And it does not come loose from the mattress. It is sewn very well, and I expect this set will last for a very long time. I would like to purchase more of these in multiple colors and they would be great for gifts. Ideal for children's bedding too because of the softness and snuggly feel. Has normal easy-care washing instructions.
Malina Jersey Cotton Sheet Set
At first I was pretty wary of the Malina Jersey Cotton Sheet Set in that it would hold up well to washing and general use. However, after two weeks of using the set which includes three washing those fears are gone.
In general the sheets are very soft and similar to your every day t-shirt. The fabric is soft to the such and very comfortable to sleep in.
We use this on my sons twin bed and did not have any problems with it.
I would highly recommend this product for purchase.
Love love love
I am in LOVE with these sheets. It's literally like I'm sleeping on a tshirt! I now have these in 4 colors because they are the most comfortable sheets ever. I usually get the bed in a bag sets and I hate those sheets. These are smooth and soft and they dont slide around easily so making the bed is super easy in the morning. I dont sweat as much on these other so that's always a plus!
Soft and stretchy
I didn't know what to expect from jersey cotton sheets. I only knew how much I love my jersey cotton shirts. With that said, it is like sleeping in your favorite t-shirt. They are really nice sheets. Very stretchy which is good because I have a huge memory foam mattress that measures almost 14 inches deep. No trouble getting these sheets on the bed, and they actually stayed on after several nights of sleeping. Here is where I personally run into an issue, and it's not an issue really, but I am not one who sleeps in rumpled sheets and covers. I like my sheets to stay put and fairly smooth throughout the night. These sheets, being just like your favorite t-shirt, move with you while you are sleeping. There were times that I had to re-adjust them because they were all over the place. That is just my preference, it is nothing with the sheets themselves. I really like the sheets, they just tend to move with you. I have washed and dried them a couple times to see if they would pill up in the dryer and they do not. They still are nice and soft. They dry well and even if you forget them in the dryer and get a few wrinkles, once you put them on they are completely smooth. These would be nice in the winter if you are looking for the softness of flannel, but not the heat. I think they are worth a try.
Almost perfect sheets
I've never owned t-shirt sheets and was very excited to try them. Friends told me how soft and comfy they were and once you had them, you'd never go back to regular sheets. I got these Malina Cotton Jersey sheets in the dark gray and they look fantastic with a lighter gray/silver comforter I recently purchased. They were a bit stiff upon first taking them out of the package, but after washing, they softened. All the seams are well sewed and they held their own in the washer and dryer with no threads coming loose. They did leave a ton of lint in my dryer trap which surprised me. Hopefully that doesn't happen every time. Unfortunately the fitted sheet wasn't deep enough to fully accommodate my thick mattress and topper—twelve inches in total. The sheet is on there, but its barely hanging onto the corners and the sides show a lot of bare mattress. Just something to consider if you also have a thick mattress. I have to say the sheets are a joy to sleep on. Perfect for fall, but not so warm you sweat. Apart from the fit, my only wish is that the sheets were thicker. After only a week, the bottom sheet is pilling really badly, so Im not sure how long they'll last.
The Malina Jersey Cotton Sheets Set (3 or ir 4-Piece) is a maximum quality is pretty soft and relaxing, made in a good size, the fabric is unique for the texture. Is an excellent option for your bed, I widely recommend it.
Comfortable for spring weather
These sheets are great for spring in New York. We have crazy weather, cold one day and super hot the next. These sheets are as comfortable as your favorite t-shirt. They are warm on those cool nights, but comfortable and breathable for those hot humid nights. The sheets are well made, and have good elasticity. They fit well on high mattresses. I highly recommend these sheets for people searching for good sheets at a good price.
Soft but after a few washes now has fuzz.
