Excellent Finish at a Great Price
Wanted to do some maintenance around the house which included touching up the hand rails that were chipped and rusty in some spots. Chose this Rust-Oleum specifically because it stops rust and had good reviews. I was also considering brush on paint, but chose this because it was much less expensive. Sprayed a couple of coats yesterday and it want on nicely, but the best part is the finish. It looks better than when we moved in here years ago. After a night of rain, I went out to see how well it dried and it does not smudge at all. I rubbed it and nothing came off on my hands. I will definitely touch this up more often to keep it looking this fresh and new.
I have been needing some of this paint for my small utility trailer and kept putting it off, so when it came up on Spark Reviewer, I thought why not. I got it and took it outside to see how it would do. Last year my son added some sheet metal to the areas that the wheeler went up and down on the gate. The grate that was on there was bending from the constant up and down so he put the metal on to the gate to give it a bit more support. I didn’t get to paint it until this year and it was showing a bit of rust. This paint did a great job of covering it up and making it look nice and clean. There were several other areas that needed touchup and so I decided to take the rest of the can and spruce up the trailer. The paint covers up the bare metal very well and looks good. The spray pattern worked very well for coverage and I didn’t get any spatter or running. I would recommend this to anyone that needs to do a bit of touchup on a project or maybe as a good base for any project.
works for anything
I love Rust-Oleum. It has helped me fix metal painted items around my house without any problems and it stays on even for furniture left outside. I use Rust-Oleum on my metal patio chairs, light posts in my driveway, and light fixtures outside of my house. I only need to spray them every 5 years. Pretty good considering. I don't need to replace any fixtures.
Smooth, good cover
I needed this Rust-Oleum to paint a railing outside the back door of my guest house. It had rusted very badly and looked dull and ugly. The paint cap was easy to open with a light squeeze which is a huge plus since some caps I break trying to pry open. I shook the can several times and I was able to begin painting. The flow was smooth and heavy enough to cover in one pass. The railing looked fabulous and the anti rust feature was a real plus for me.
I sprayed the top and several rungs without ever getting any drips from the sprayer, it never glopped like cheaper paints. I found the RustOleum paint to be a great product. I will never buy cheaper discount spray paint again. I had zero runs and was able to complete the whole project and still have almost half a can left. I have used cheap paint and had to wipe runs and use 2 cans for similar projects but not with this paint!!!. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
Can’t Beat it!
You really can’t beat Rust-oleum for outdoor use. I used this in black. It is perfect for metal furniture or anything you want to be rust resistant. We actually used this on a rocket my son and I built for Cub Scouts. It has great coverage and dries quickly so time between coats is maybe 5-10 minutes. One thing I really like is the lid. I sometimes have trouble getting the lid off of spray paint. This lid has two grips on either side that when depressed lets the lid come off easily. Living right by the ocean means that we always have trouble with corrosion from the salty air. So, I keep several cans of this around for quick touch ups. Great product. I always trust that I can depend on Rust-oleum to do a good job on whatever I am painting.
Easy to use
Easy to use if you follow the instructions. Use in a well ventilated area. Use a protective backdrop to catch overspray. Wear protective clothing and eyewear. Spray from 10-16" from the item's surface to get an even spray. Leaves a nice glossy black finish. It stops rust. I plan to use it on outdoor decorations and my outdoor side gate which are rusting and leaving rust stains on my cement walkway. Seems like an easy way to protect and stop rust. A afternoon project that should provide many months of protection. I have used the Rust-oleum brand for many projects. This protective enamel provides the same standard I've come to expect.
Even better with improved nozzle
The cap was easy to remove. I love the new high output nozzle tip! Paint comes out fast and even. Feels so much better than the old style that cuts into my finger - I didn't even get finger painted while I used this one. Great product as always with this trusted brand. Deep black and very glossy. I am paint challenged and I can still make it look OK. This high speed spay helps because I have no patience for all those paint passes :D
Stop Rust, Freshen Color
The Rust-Oleum was used to color over our black gate on the porch. The black color worked well and freshened-up an old tarnished and rusted look black, that had discolored with age and weather conditions. The advanced formula sprays fast and covers quickly, we wore gloves and had paper on the ground to cover run-off, and it was needed as the spray is generous. The freshened up paint job went quickly, and looks great.
Prevents and protects from rust!
This paint comes in handy for so many reasons. It is one of those things you should have in your garage to spray over metal fixtures that can rust or corrode. I used it to protect the metal fixtures from my kids playground that was starting to rust. Which made them look like new because of the glossy black finish. The instructions are easy to understand and fallow. I like how easy it is to use this spray can and protect metal or wood things in a mater of minutes. It makes it easy to get things done quickly. With that said I recommend this brand and product.
Pretty good coverage
It was really hard to get a good picture of the finished color but it’s deep black. Coverage is actually really good but the gloss shows every imperfection easily. Took almost the whole can to do one end table just to even out the less glossy spots. I would have given it 5 stars but the supposed locking lid didn’t lock at all, fell off actually. If you have kids this is a feature you would definitely want to work!
1st one didn't work - 2nd one worked better.
It got clogged up within a few seconds. Could not do anything to unclog it. I had to go buy more. The second one worked better..
about the best you can get...its going up in price.but ive used this for nearly 40 years.both brush and spray.
good, convenient spray enamel
I have used Rust-Oleum gloss enamel often. I have always liked it.
I always have liked rust-Oleum The spray paint is easy to use and always looks good
I love this stuff, it's my go to brand.
The lid was cracked and the top of the sprayer was broke off.
Good coverage with the first layer!
We used this protective enamel spray on the black iron legs of a bench in our garden and we are so happy with the result, it made the iron looking like brand new! The result is truly glossy and the first layer was thick enough to cover any discoloration we were seeing. We will be using this spray can for any future touch ups!
Yeah that's used on every finished product on some of my lawn furniture that need to be repainted scraped everything down spread this on let it sit for about for 5 days and then put the color I desired on top of the top of it so far no bleeding no resting with a couple rainstorms so I'd have to say I'm happy with the product I would buy the product again
I received the rust-oleum spray paint on the behalf of spark reviewer. This spray paint stops rust and is advanced glass, it protective enamel and it’s a 12oz can. You can use it inside or outside. The paint drys within 2-4 hours. The colors long lasting and durable.
Good spray paint
I used this to paint a old chair I had, it was easy to spray evenly and needed about to coat to fill in all the missing spots. It dried up really nicely.
