Incredible! The stage settings and costumery were wonderful. A great story of love, honor, betrayal, jealousy. It has it all. All of it is subtitles. It is really too good to miss.

This move is almost as good as Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon. The colors and sets are the the most beautiful I have ever seen.

A True Epic Movie

This is truly an 'epic' movie. Shot on the largest set ever built in China, with thousands of extras in costume and amazing costumes and set designs; it would have been easy for the visuals to overwhelm the story - but the brooding story of dark family secrets and power struggles still drives it. It slides easily from Shakespearean style drama to action packed martial-arts sequences without pause, and manages to blend both flawlessly. Set in the opulent 10th century Tang Dynasty Chinese royal palace, you can witness the dark forces of decay eroding the spectacular lifestyles of the ruling family. Highly recommended in Blu-Ray, includes the original Chinese soundtrack (as well as dubbed English) If you have a good HD home-theater the visuals alone make this worth the price. Great demo movie!

Curse Of The Golden Flower (Blu-ray)

Splendid color and blu-ray picture. Beautiful sets and costumes. I was not overly impressed with the computer generated fight scenes. Lets face it...nothing beats the real thing. As a result, I gave Curse Of The Golden Flower Four stars. I prefer Memoirs of A Geisha...a story pertaining to the social aspects of a Geisha's life. A story that had it all without computer magic, i.e., color, picture quality, sets, and acting. Indeed, a lovely movie.
