Lightweight vacuum at a decent price
One would think that a $59.00 vacuum cleaner would be poorly designed and not work very well. That's a very wrong assumption when describing this vacuum cleaner. It was easy to assemble and it has great suction. My living room and hall are the only carpeted areas in my home, so the smaller sweeping head works great for me, especially for under tables and between furniture pieces. I had vacuumed the previous weekend using a similar Dirt Devil sweeper and was surprised at the lint and debris this thing collected. I gave the old vacuum to a friend, figuring that I could find an identical replacement. This one is better than the old one! The dirt cup can be detached easily and parts are easily available. This vacuum isn't heavy, so it can be easily toted from one area to another. The dirt cup is easy to empty. Filters and belts are easily available. If you are reading reviews as you consider which vacuum to buy, get this vacuum. It does a great cleaning job for a very low price. Why spend $200 on a vacuum cleaner when a $59.00 one does just as well?
Luv it, luv it luv it!!!
This little machine is a monster! It cleans so much better than even my much more expensive vacuum! Easy to empty and no bags! great feature! Works well on bare floors and carpeting! I like the hose attachment for getting into the tiny spaces! I have had a Dirt Devil before, and ,(am), very pleased with that one too! (It's 10 years old and still works great! I use it for dh's shop area) I use this everyday......
best vacuum I have ever owned
I have had a great many vacuums, both large and small, but this DIRT DEVIL DYNAMITE PLUS is by far the best. It is small and light. All of the attachments are on board. It cleans all types of floors completely, and really gets the dirt deep in carpets. The dirt cup is easy to empty, and then you can right back to vacuuming floors or furniture or vents. This was the best choice I could have made. And Walmart store pick-up made it even better.
Excellent vacuum for small areas...
I don't live in a large house with every room designed with luxurious carpeting - I live in a small apartment with just three carpeted rooms - so I didn't need an expensive vacuum cleaner. But this Dirt Devil suits my needs perfectly. I've lived in this apartment for two years and it's only been vacuumed twice before - when I borrowed a vacuum cleaner from a neighbor. The first time I used this Dirt Devil I was shocked at the amount of dirt that it picked up (and would have been embarrassed had anyone seen the amount!)! Now i vacuum once a week and this thing works so well that it gets just the smallest amount of grit in my carpet. If you live in a mansion, you can probably afford a feather-weight Dyson... but if you've not a lot of heavy carpeting this may be the vacuum cleaner for you, too.
Love this vacuum
I have had the dirt devil dynamite (blue) for years and love it. The only thing my original blue dynamite didn't have was the extension hose with tools, so I finally decided to go ahead and buy the new version with on board tools. The hose could be a little longer, but it works for what I need it for. My husband says this one is not as loud as the original, but I never thought it was that loud anyways, and who cares when it picks up so great. I have cats, dogs & parrots and a young child, and this vacuum works awesome.
So happy to find that Dirt Devil still makes this model. The first one lasted 10 years. I expect at least another 10 years from this one. Actually the old one was still working but I held it by the handle to move it and didn't realize it was not locked in the down position. It dropped about 6" and one of the wheels broke off because plastic had become brittle, I guess.
I live in a motorhome,so I needed a compact vacume.Dirt Devil has had good products in the past,so I thought I would give them a try.The design is good, but the power isn't.The filter clogs very fast, and you lose most suction....fast.Usage in a regular house would entail constant cleaning of the filter.
This vacuum would be great if they would have made the canister like the Dirt Devil Quick Path I have. (If that one had attachments I wouldn't have bought another one) The problem with the canister is that it doesn't hold much dirt and dust and emptying it is a real pain. You have to take the filter out every time and clean it too. I am getting ready to return mine to the store. Other than the canister issue, the vacuum picks up good.
Hi buildagreatsite! If you're in need of a larger dirt cup capacity while still having a lightweight vacuum take a look at the Dirt Devil Lift&Go right here at WalMart.com. It is a lightweight full size upright vacuum and a portable canister for more convenient above floor cleaning all in one! Hope this helps.

-Giselle
Dirt Devil Customer Care
The ONLY "devil" that's allowed in my home!
Purchased on 4/3. Received on 4/7. To date (4/17), only used once. PROS: Used the day I received it. Didn't realize the amount/ layer of dirt/dust/debris, that was on my carpet, until I was finished! This little "devil" LOL, is AMAZING! Although my carpet still needs a DEEP cleaning, (it's 22 years old!), & only shampooed once, I could still see the difference before vs after, using this vacuum cleaner! Not to mention, actually watching, as the dirt entered into the canister! I am very pleased! CONS: Right out of the box, the vacuum cleaner was DUSTY! Not sure why that is. Anyway, I cleaned it off with a damp towel. Upon the first use, I noticed a significant amount of dust escaping from the vacuum cleaner. Again, not sure why this occurred. After completing vacuuming, I emptied the canister, and vacuumed once again. Problem seemed to fix itself. No more dust escaping. Not exactly sure why that happened in the first place. The hose was difficult to use! Too short & too stiff! The suction through the hose, is not as good, as the suction, when just vacuuming carpet! So, if I can help it, I won't be using the hose attachment. Bummer! Anyway, all in all, so far, I am very pleased with my purchase!
Not the greatest but ok
It's very small and if I had realized that I wouldn't have bought it. I kept it because the shipping was too expensive. Actually I bought two and gave one to my son for his apt. I would not recommend it. There are other bagged vacuums for about the same price that you won't have to empty every 30 seconds.
Hi Melissa! The Dirt Devil Dynamite was designed for light weight, quick picks up. If you are looking for a unit that has a bigger dirt cup capacity, we recommend the Dirt Devil Power Max. You can see it here at Walmart: http://bit.ly/2nJVk1w. Hope this helps! -Michael, Dirt Devil Customer Care
Hard to push
I bought this because my last vacuum quit working. This vacuum picks up good, dog hair included, but it is very hard to push. I have a neck injury and need a vacuum that is easier to handle . I like that it goes from carpet tohard wood flooring automatically. It is GREAT at picking up dog hair.
Hi 4lil1snana! If the unit is hard to push on your carpet, you may need a unit that has a manual height adjust. The unit was designed to go from carpet to hard floor automatically, so there is no manual height adjust. Hope this helps! -Michael, Dirt Devil Customer Care
I HAVE A 12 AMP LARGER VACCUM BUT WANTED SOMETHING SMALLER SO I WOULD NOT HAVE TO CARRY THE LARGE 12 AMP AROUND. THIS IS A 7 AMP AND I WAS SURPRISED AFTER I VACUUMED WITH THE 12 AMP I VACUUMED WITH THIS SMALLER VERSION AND IT PICKED UP ABOUT 2 AND A HALF INCHES OF LEFT OVER DIRT AND DUST. I SHAMPOOED THE RUG AND THE NEXT DAY VACUUMED AND GOT AND ADDITIONAL 2 INCHES THAT WAS STIRRED UP BY THE SHAMPOOER. I WILL HAVE TO SAY THAT THIS LITTLE MACHINE CAN PICK THE CARPET QUITE WELL. BUT THE QUESTION I HAVE IS, HOW LONG WILL THIS MACHINE FUNCTION WITH LIKABLE OPERATION UNTIL IT QUITS? THAT SEEMS TO BE THE WAY OF OVERSEAS MANUFACTURING. HAVE TO WAIT AND SEE.....
