Nice and light and easy to use. Time will tell how long the batteries last, but for now I can do my whole yard, which is pretty big, on 1 battery and still have power left over.
Best trimmer I've ever had!
I just bought one of these and absolutely love it! Where have I been? I'll never go back to using a cord! This trimmer is so easy and fun to use that I went back there the store and bought a cordless blower. The little 20v to be exact.
After watching a few videos on these I am so glad I went with Black and Decker! Kudos on a great product!
Awesome Tool to have
This purchase has been awesome for me! It is very easy to operate, and light weight! I would definitely recommend this product!
Light work of summer chore
Heavy lawn mower on steep digs is a danger...this light weight cordless alternative makes it a safer task . Rechargeable battery has just enough work life for this senior.
Great weed eater
The weed eater works great! Easy to charge. Easy to use. Lightweight.
Nice weed eater
I have been using Stihl equipment, but this weed eater I got for just around the house. Works great. Light an plenty of power. With the 3ah battery, I get tied before the battery does. That wheel for edging works great, on the concrete, but not so much for edging the flower beds. But the thing is so lite it really doesn’t matter. Really nice addition to my 20 volt tools.
Black and Decker 20 volt system
This my second 20 volt cordless trimmer. The battery charger and battery were still good after the first trimmer failed. Now that I have a new trimmer I now have a backup battery and charger. I was hoping that I could just replace the trimmer only but the tool only was not available.
Gets the job done!
I purchased this trimmer a few weeks ago as I needed a tool that was easy to handle on my 75ft x 300ft property. For my purposes, this trimmer was fantastic. Light-weight, easy to handle, no cords to drag behind, no messing around with gasoline. Only gave it 4 stars because even with 2 batteries I couldn't quite finish the trimming in my whole yard before having to recharge them, but in all fairness I did put it through a pretty rigorous work out. Love this trimmer!
Keyword is cordless
Trimming is all about the hard " to get at " little bits in your yard. Cordless and light will get the job done. Bonus the Lithium battery powers other Back & Decker tools which are also available on line at Walmart ,usually in limited quantities so hurry in for those summer jobs that need doing or for Father's Day .
OK, but could use more power
Easy to use, though a bit awkward re: the location of the button needed to enable one to activate the trimmer. I have an older Black and Decker that uses an 18 volt battery. My recent purchase (20 volt battery) seems to have less power. I am interested in gauging the performance over time, and assess how well the batteries retain power. Battery life and how long the battery retains its charge are important consideratins for me and its use on our .7 acre lawn
Easy to use
I like this product. I have used as trimmer and edger, but the reason I bought was the mower attachment. I have a small hill and my regular mower is hard to use on. This solved the problem. Battery Good 15 to 20 minutes, did buy a fast charger to work longer. Trimmer works well!
I absolutely love this product. Great power and long lasting battery. I love the ability to just start trimming and getting it done without having to pick up the cord and check on the plug-in. I have 3/4 acre of land and it makes trimming so easy. Can't say enough about it!!
I love this weedwacker! It is so light to I can easily use it for as long as it takes to get the job done. The "mower" attachment is great for larger patches that I still can't get with my riding mower. I can get 15 minutes working time from each battery included. I recently bought an additional larger battery and that gives me 30 minutes. It is high powered and does the job without using gas. It is easy to use. I simply love this tool!
Died after 9 months
The PowerFeed never worked. I re-read the User and Guide, reinserted the spool countless times and tried new spools but I could never get the line to advance at all, never mind to the point where I heard it hitting the inside of the guard, as the Guide said I should. I had no choice but to remove the spool cap and advance the line manually if I needed a deeper cut for edge trimming. After 9 months the unit died completely even though the charger light was solid green, indicating the battery was fully charged. I have trashed it!
Bought several months ago and trimmer worked fine. About a month ago the trimmer started auto-feeding too much line. Trimmer automatically shuts down when there is too much line. I can manually cut the excess line and trimmer will operate for 10seconds until it auto feeds too much line and shuts down again. I have not been able to trim in the last month. I regret buying this product.
Self feed not working. Lever assembly is ok.
I like the trimmer, but it doesn't self-feed anymore. Can't figure it out. I've checked the lever assembly and its not broken. I tried to find out online how the self-feed works and when it works, but can't find an explanation. It's supposed to work by centrifugal force, but no one can explain when it works and how the trimmer knows when to feed. Do I need to replace the trimmer head assembly?
Like the 20V Max Lithium battery. Last longer.
Bought sept., 2019, worked well for 8wks. Come spring 2020, worked great for several weeks then the auto feed released whole reel. Rewound the string and it did the same thing. Further inspection showed the clutch used to auto feed string (made of plastic) was broken, still in warranty. I had an earlier model of this trimmer I loved, it lasted 3 years. This one lasted 6mths. Called support to let them know what happened, sent a new one. Hoping this one lasts longer than the 6mth the first LSTE523 Trimmer/Edger. It's light and the larger 20 volt battery last till my trimming is done. Even did my neighbors yard for him today with it. Again, hoping this lasts at least it's 2 yr warranty...price is good. Gave 3 stars for this reason.
less than i was told
hi I purchased a week ago , used 2 times so far ,it does the job but battery life isn't as long as I was told by salesman.it is lightweight, unsure if plastic holds up yet
Echo other positive reviews-nice product for a fair price
black and decker trimmer/edger and blower set
Bought the Black and Decker trimmer/edger and blower as a set. Came with 2 rechargeable batteries. Worked fine for about half the summer. The rechargeable lithium batteries don't last long, only a few minutes at a time. later that summer they won't charge at all. I really liked these easy to use items at first. I really don't want to buy new rechargeable batteries-they are expensive and I don't know if the tools will work properly, they suck.
