Love this tent
Worth every penny. Easy to put up too. The 2 of us were using a queen inflatable mattress but it's too high and large. We bought low to the ground cots and now there's plenty of room to get up
just what i wanted
Camped near Niagara Falls and set up and sleeping was perfect . loved the Carlsbad Fast Pitch Dome Tent with screen room
Great for car camping for 3
I bought this for my two young sons and I to go camping with our Trail Life troop. It fits the three of us quite well with most of our stuff in the tent and water proof stuff out in the "screen room". In a pinch we can fit three adult camp chairs in the screen room for a bug free meal. I would be able to have more space in the tent if I packed more efficiently or left some stuff in the car, but I do not have a need to when it is just the 3 of us.
We had a few rain showers on our recent camping trip and the boys were able to stand in the screen room against the tent without getting rained on (subject to the direction the rain is falling). No rain came through the seams or zippers, and the screen room's mesh strip in the floor allowed the rain to drain out with just very minor pooling.
It is GREAT to have a "mud room" that is screened off from the bugs where you can take off your shoes before getting into the tent itself. I suggest putting a towel just inside the tent flap to store the shoes after stepping out of them in the screen room.
The dark room fly absolutely keep the tent cooler than the outside, especially if you are not fortunate enough to have shade from trees. I was able to take an early afternoon nap without a problem thanks to the dark room fly. Cross ventilation is okay, but having 1 whole side that is a screen under the fly makes it a little hard to control the airflow.
The tent is very easy to set up and break down. I am able to do it by myself if necessary with little trouble. I'm 6'1" and can stand at full height in the middle of tent. I have received many comments on having the screen room and how great it is. If Coleman makes a 10 person dark room with a screen room, I will purchase it in a heart beat.
The photos don't show the darkness well because of auto white balancing, but it is considerably darker with the fly. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Dark room technology is awesome
I like this tent Its a great 3 season tent Ive seen other reviews on this tent where people thought it was a 4 season, its not Its a 3 season but its a great 3 season would recommend this tent. Coleman rocks
Unbelievably easy and quick to erect
I am on my own and found the tent so easy to erect. It really does go up in seconds but of course takes a bit longer to make it secure. The dark fabric definitely helps with the heat and early morning sun not waking you up too early [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Perfect for us
We do some pretty aggressive camping , our tent went through a huge wind and thunderstorm and survived beautifully ! I accidentally stepped on a pole and it didn't even crack ! Also, I would suggest using a liner or tarp if you put on gravel , the tent feels great quality but the bottom feels a tad thin so just to be safe !
No cover for window
I really liked the features of this tent online but as I was putting it up I had a few disappointments. The major one is the large back window does not have a way to cover besides the rain fly, which still lets the cold air in. The rest of the windows have great zipped closures that keep the light out. Also, a clip broke the first time putting up. Then the waterproof spray made for outdoor fabric and camping gear left spray marks on the tent. So disappointed to have all this happen before actually camping the first time.
Affordable, durable, needs a better rain cover.
We got this for a camping trip in Canadas east coast. It is spacious and fun, easy to set up, and sturdy. It stood up to some 30-40km/hr winds.
I only wish it had a complete rain fly. We stayed dry in the tent during some rain, but the front vestibule got soaked.
Nice tent but poor quality. Broke while camping.
The tent was in a very small wind storm. The front screened in area was push flat and the pole snapped. It also ripped one pole securing points off the tent itself and ripped another. Very poor quality. Its a shame it was a very nice looking and feeling tent.
Dark room falling apart
I have had this tent goin on 2 plus years. It was great the first time. I have used it 4 times. So had up this past weekend and noticed the black material in the tent and on the rainfly was coming of at an alarming rate. It looks like a horror seen from the inside. Thankfully it did not rain. This is a terrible flaw. Sorry Coleman company but this is unacceptable.
Tent broke on the second night!
The second night of my first camping trip high winds and rain came and the tent laid over flat, got soaked and eventually broke. I had to leave it and hike out of the camp site in the middle of the night. The winds were high but not I don't think this should have happened. It's a shame cause it seemed like it was going to be great for my family.
Really did like the tent
I like the darkroom technology and the inside of the tent was spacious, however the overall design has major flaws. First the screenroom needs to have a larger rain fly my sceenroom was always flooded. Second the main tent pole is not removable which makes packing up difficult.
I was in the market for a bigger tent when my wife started going with me, and this is the best! kept it cool during July. plenty of room. and the front porch is a bonus! I would highly recommend this tent, I do all the time in person.
Claims tent keeps you dry
Love the tent part; hate the screened room area because it fills up with rain water and you have to mop it all up. I removed 40 cups of water from the screened room floor after one rain period.
Leaks and fills with water
This was for a our annual camping trip got a little bit of rain the first night and the whole thing just filled with water around all for the corners of the main tent flooded it ruined my camping trip
tent is easy to set up. Has small rain fly that does not cover scren area. Plenty of room for four and gear ,But would not try six unless children. Does stand pretty strong winds as we had 30 mph winds. Only broke two setions of poles. Others lost entire tent. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
We have used this tent 22 nights this summer. Never got wet, no problems at all. Easy to set up. Holding up well.
Easy to Pitch
This dark room tent is awesome, it goes easily and darkness makes it cool during the day. In addition, the darkness allowed me to sleep much later in the morning than usual, for the perfect timing while on vacation! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Love it easy pitch
Held up to 4 weeks of scout/webelo week summer camps (South Dakota windy storms) plus various other family camping. However if you are using it w the deluxe cot you are going to have issues because it touches the sides of the tent = rain in tent [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
nice tent but not water proof when it rain. need to water shied [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
