Wow! What a phone for just $50
Large bright screen. Phone is very responsive. No complaints after using it for a month. Feels like a much more expensive phone.

Poor phone
I don't usually take the time to write reviews, but I'd like to save someone the headache that came with this phone. The first problem was it took nearly 16 hours to activate (which I guess is a common problem with this phone). 3 phone calls to straight talk later, I finally got it active. The main problem with the phone is very, very poor connectivity. The phone runs off mainly wifi, when running off 3 or 4g, it connects barley if any at all. Ive had straight talk phones for years and years and never had any problems with connectivity until I bought this phone. They lure you in with the cheap price for a larger smart phone (ironically, the phone was supposed to come with extra high speed LGE for life), but in the end it is not worth the headaches. Phone had potential, but if like to use your phone on the go, this is not for you

GREAT cell

Dont let the 2 negative reviews cloud your judgement about this device. This cell does ask if you want to make wifi calls BUT you can shut off that feature. I'm getting about 20MB/s on the 4G LTE T-Mobile network. Its a quad core running on 5.1. The screen is 5.5 inches. It also has a 7.5GB data limit on the Straight Talk plan which is AMAZING with the $45/month plan. I have WONDERFUL reception wherever I go. I came from the GS 3 and GS 4 ST phones (VERIZON network) and for its my favorite cell yet. I got a $7 cover on-line so I'm covered! The cell does have a 5MP back camera which is bad and a low quality front camera. I can live with that personality. I have 0 issues watching youtube or going online. My games work very fast. I wish I found this device earlier!

Awesome!

Granted, I've only had this phone 2 days & so far it's fantastic. With the quad-processor it is super fast. Pic quality is good. Sound quality is good also. I was very hesitant in buying this phone because, in my mind, I was thinking a phone this cheap can't be good. Well, I'm delighted I went ahead & purchased it.

Great features for the price!

I've had this phone for a month now and am quite impressed with it, especially at the price. I got it direct from Straight Talk on a special limited introductory offer and thought for sure it would immediately be junk or loaded with bloatware considering the low price and little information provided. Not so! Great phone that runs Lollipop, responsive touch screen, a 5.5" screen and separate navigation buttons outside of the screen area. Another review cited activation issues- I didn't have that. By the time that I charged the phone and set up the basics, my number had been switched over and it was ready to use in under an hour. I used the online transfer via the ST website- NEVER call them, they are the worst on the phone! 5 years experience dealing with them- online is the way to go. The negatives that I've found so far- This particular phone runs on T-mobile, not the AT&T or Verizon of other ST phones!!! Check T-mobile site to see what their network is like in your area. It works fine at home, but gets a bit sketchy when travelling to some areas. Speaking of which, the signal strength indicator icon is "lacking" to me on this phone- only 3 sections of a triangle, it's usually on the first or second level, but I use it more for data than voice calling so it's OK. It's supposed to offer 50% more data for free, but I have it connected to my wi-fi networks so that it's not eating up data while I'm bored- browsing or playing games and the call quality is often better. Side Note: the wi-fi will still work on an unactivated phone (less calling capabilities), so may be a great economical alternative for a child that wants a phablet without needing the ongoing expense of a phone number/ data outside of the home... Speaking of games, the screen resolution is listed as generic "HD", but it's the low end of HD. Looks fine in normal viewing but there is a "screen door effect" when trying to use for close up VR headset. The screen also washes out in sunlight, and in direct sun is almost impossible to see. The movement in both games and video is good and fluid. The built in speaker is good, and louder than expected without sounding tinny or muffled. The cameras are not so great, honestly. The main camera is slow to respond to focus and take the pic once the button is pressed. The front view/ "selfie" cam is low resolution, but that's fine for Skype, tried Google "Duo" and it looked like an old TV with bad reception. Not sure if it was the phone or the app, but the on screen view from the "selfie" camera is often grainy. I have yet to understand the battery (built-in) this phone! Sometimes it will stay at 100% for hours in standby, other times it's at 60% in the same amount of time if I leave the house and don't turn off wi-fi and locations. It does charge relatively quickly when plugged into the wall (MUCH less so with just USB- more trickle charge than actual charge). I'm curious as to how long the non-replaceable battery will last before making the phone unusable/ become a wired phablet and replaced with a new phone. The thinness makes up for the extra width so that it doesn't feel uncomfortable to hold. It's already been knocked off of a counter while charging and suffered no damage. Easy to navigate around to use as a phone, web browser and apps. This same phone is available as TracFone (ST sister company) and I believe the Jitterbug Touch, but the ST version is not pre-loaded with bloatware, so finding "accessories" for this model should get easier. I was initially apprehensive since I have never heard of Alcatel, but neither LG or Samsung had the features that I wanted that this phone has, without paying atleast 3 times the price (and an older OS). I did grab a 32g microSD for like $15, since apps can quickly eat up the miniscule 8 gig built into the phone- most already used up by the various system resources. Pretty much essential if you want to take photos or videos with the phone or browse for more than 5 minutes without bogging down. In the end, good phone at a great price if T-mobile service is decent in your area.

Fantastic Phone! Economy Price!

I am a hardcore Samsung Galaxy S series fan. My old Samsung finally bit the dust after a hard life and I just didn't want to spend all the money on the new S7 right now. I ran across this phone and it stood out to me. The display was huge! Then I saw the price tag and it was cheap! I looked up the features and it does everything and more than I need. I got it and a 32GB micro sd card to expand the memory. This phone works fantastic! I'm so pleased, I don't even want the S7 anymore. The only draw back is the camera is low end, but I expect that for the price. The performance is great. I haven't had any crash issues. My Fitbit even works well with it, even though Fitbit claims it isn't compatible. All the apps and games seem to work well and smoothly. Video on the big display is clear. The screen seems to respond to touch well, and the sounds is really good as well. Only reason I didn't rate a solid 5 stars is some of my apps that I want to start at startup, do not. They are set to on the settings, but for some reason they don't. I don't know if this is the phone or software issue, but this phone is a great value.

Not satisfied.

Phone responds slowly. I keep losing connection all the time even when it shows I have a great 4G signal. At home I usually pick up a 4G signal on my phones but this phone picks up 3G. Phone indicated 7.5 Gig at 4G but the Straighttalk website still says it only includes 5 Gig at 4G speed. I think I am going to take advantage of Walmart's 30 day return policy. Battery is not removable as well. I wish I had picked a different phone.

very bad phone

Overall the phone looks nice and has a nice big screen but besides that the phone is no good. This phones keyboard is no good, you can't type very good on it, sometimes the keys will work but nine times out of ten they do not regardless of how clean the screen is, also you can't just use the swipe option you have to literally change the input settings. And if your into listening to music with headphones forget buying this phone, the quality of sound through headphones is horrendous its not loud enough and it is always muffled the sound is no good... Also the phone says it comes with 7.5 GB of data for life of your phone but literary shuts off at 4.5 and then you will be on the phone every month with a S.T. tech about your data... The worse thing about this phone is it always sends your texts 3-4 times in a row and you usually receive one text 3-4 times in a row more times then not... SOrry but DO NOT purchase this phone it is not even worth 50$ let alone 10$... This is the worse phone I have ever, ever bought and I wish I never did and so will you...

Doesn't work in my area

I wanted this phone so badly, especially for the 5.5" screen, and it was finally cheap enough for me to afford at $49.88. So I bought it, took it home, transferred my minutes, and BAM! The phone won't work in my area because it runs off T-Mobile instead of Verizon. This REALLY ticks me off. Why sell a phone in an area where it won't even work? Now I have to take it back, get a refund and try to find a decent phone I can afford because my old one is on its last leg. First time in the 6 years I've been on Straight Talk that I've bought a phone that I couldn't get service on. Really not happy with ST right now!

Don't Waste Your Money

Wish I had read the reviews! This is by far the worst phone out there. Volume doesn't work for incoming calls or alarms. Constantly having to uninstall and reinstall apps is a hassel. Can't use earbuds because the music comes through the phone, not the earbuds. Then randomly having the time change is awesome. I have never seen anything quite like this phone. It's hit or miss if my alarm will go off in the morning or if I'll receive any calls without having to turn the phone on and off all day. Garbage phone, don't waste your money.

Unbelievable

Great phone for the price it's fast responsive screen holds a charge . I had no problems activating with straight talk it took a whole 5 mins just put my sim card in and bam done. Voice calls are clear 4g lte pretty much everywhere. For 50 dollars you cant beat it it operates like a 250 phone no joke I would buy it again. Camera is not so great but its manageable. Internet browsing is much better than I expected it's fast. Video quality is good not great but hey its 50 bucks buy it you wont be disappointed.

Great for movies, not great for signal

I love this phone for streaming movies. The screen clarity is beyond what I could've hoped for. I stream from YouTube, Netflix and google play over wifi at home. My biggest complaint is that i live way out in the middle of nowhere which makes it so I may have missed calls or can not send/receive texts from home. I have other means of texting while at home so it doesn't really bother me too bad. Other than that it works great when I'm anywhere near town. I would give the phone 5 stars if it wasn't for that issue.

worst phone

This phone is literally the worst phone I've ever had. It always says my storage is full and won't let me access any apps. Ive deleted all my pictures and only have 2 apps, and it always says my storage is full. ALSO when i plug my headphones in, the sound comes out of the phone and doesn't connect to any headphones i use. The camera is TERRIBLE. and it freezes at random times and doesn't even allow me to turn it off unless i hold the power button for 15 seconds. Texts send 3-4 times in a row to people, im glad i am finally getting a new phone , this phone is garbage.
