Easy to use and quiet
I bought this unit for camping and to run essential appliances during power outages. Just last week it came in useful to run my sump pump to prevent flooding. The quietness of the unit is great for camping and the compact size makes it easy to fit in the back of my SUV [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Excellent for the price
I bought this generator for my 32ft travel trailer and it is awesome! Almost as quiet as a HOnda 2200 but a lot cheaper. Runs my whole trailer with no issues. Run time averages 8 1/2 hours per tank with my fridge and furnace running as well as some lights. Handle for lifting is well designed and comfortable. Starts easily usually the first pull. It did surge continuously for the first half hour of running but smoothed out to a consistent even purr after that. Very happy with it. Would recommend to anyone!! The B&S represents great value because it embodies all of the features of the 'big name' generators, but at a huge price advantage. Along with this comes the legendary reliability of Briggs and Stratton [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Bought this unit because there are no electric sites left for camping due to covid-19. I also wanted to be able to run a small air conditioner to cool of my older dog during the day. This unit can run my 8000 btu ac, fans, lights, and charge our phones. Basically it powers our whole campsite. Get a heavier gauge extension cord for items that draw more watts minimum 14 gauge. All in all great unit, plenty of power, quiet, and good price. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Bought this as a backup for a camper we have at a permanent site, we are limited on what kind of power load we may have if there are a number of using the electricity. Love how quiet it is, so nice for us and the other campers! Only wish that it had a larger gas tank, 1 gal seems a little small for what we use it for, but something we can deal with. Very dependable. Sips fuel.
I bought the Model P2200 last year to power my RV trailer when I'm on the road. Always starts within 2 pulls. Very fuel efficient. Noisier than Honda/Yamaha but at 1/4 of the cost; relevant. Two neighbours have now purchased as well... very pleased. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Great value, quite silent, easy start.
Bought it the last day before Covid19 store closures, just for backup in case of power failure. We have a small camper so it may also serve if we do dry camping. Have tried and it easily powers up our air conditioning for the camper.. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
No fill oil instruction
I read the operator's manual & found no mention of the requirement to fill the oil. I checked the oil and found some appearing on the dipstick. I assumed this was OK & tried to start. After pulling the cord about 50 times to no effect I checked the lights & noticed the low oil light briefly flash. So I topped up the oil & hey presto it worked - extremely well. I am happy with product but feel this should be mentioned in the manual a little clearer than currently shown.
Works fine with no issue used only once so far
Purchase for my toyhauler to use when motorcycling when off the grid. Have only used the unit once on 07/06/017. No complaints from me but other campers in the camp ground complained it was too noise, which I agree it is loud for a portable gen.
Ran the A/C on TV with no issues running at lower speed.
I bought the P2200 because of its size and name. B&S has always had a great product. Family went camping last weekend. Generator worked great that night. Next morning I fired it up, letting it warn up a tad, and hit the start button on the coffee pot. BOOM... it killed the engine and now refuses to start. I will have to take it in for warranty repair, but when you're out camping with no power at the site, a broken product doesn't help you any. Thing is I've been seeing a lot of reviews that have had this same issue. Its very irritating when product you trust breaks in less than 12 hours.
Nice fit and finish, not too noisy
My purchase of a 2200 inverter generator is as a backup for a bigger standby generator: just needed for the sump pump in case the standby generator won't start. It powers a ½ hp sump pump just fine with capacity to spare. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Oil pump problems first one I had seized next one I got oil light comes on after 20 seconds of run time restart and it's fine until you shut off and let it sit then same thing happens seems to be getting worse. I afraid this is going to seize up too ..don't waste your money.
I purchased this generator in December 2019 and have only been able to start it 5 times. I have had to replace the spark plug that was defective. I have had to replace the side panel. That was caused by pulling 30 times the kick back pulled the handle from my arthritic hand and cracked the panel. I really think you machine dislikes temperatures below zero. The times it started the temp was above freezing. Not good with power failure in our Candian winter weather.
One of the times I did get it started I found it would not run my log splitter which is rated at 15 Amps.
I had another generator that was rated at 1700 amps in rust and 1600 constant. It run the splitter but your higher rated generator will not. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Works great but one major flaw
Decided to buy this over a honda generator since the price difference is huge. It works great, only thing is that it will not start when its cold (-24 when i tested it). The problem is the choke does not fully cover the carburetor opening. I covered it with my hand and it started second pull. I use it often in cold weather, im sure im not the only one with this problem. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Bought this as replacement for Yamaha 2000 Inverter, and thus far no issues. Seems a little louder than the Yamaha, and seems to use a little more gas than the Yamaha, but able to power up hunt camp that includes a medium sized fridge, couple of portable fans, several light fixtures, and still able to run a circular saw (while the fans are off). Handy to have.
I've had my generator for a year, now. Other than it being harder to start than it should be, I am happy with it. It is a little heavy, but not overly so, considering it us a generator. For what I use it for, small tools, it does what it should. It's also electronics friendly. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
We had a three day power outage from an ice storm, the generator did a great job keeping the furnace operating.
I was quiet and good on fuel.
I got what I expected from a Briggs and Stratton product.

It is the size generator i was looking for.
I find it hard to start. It takes 8 to 10 pulls to get it started. I feel it should have a
primer. it takes to long to get the gas to carburetor. I wanted it so my wife could start it in my absence but it is to much for her. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Excellent portable quiet power !
I just won this P2200 inverter/generator at my annual Gun Club dinner. Powered it up this morning, following the directions. In about 10 minutes, started fine. Connected my Traeger Smoker to it, and cooked a nice meal. Ran it with no problems, quiet, and worked great. Didn't even cause it to strain, so next time I will plug in 2 things, but with the quality of this thing, I know it will take it. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Very good so far.
I just bought this today. Filled the oil and fuel(premium) and nothing but. Started on the second pull. I let it warm up and then tried my light stand, it handled it superbly. I then plugged in a 1500watt heater. The generator performed as expected. We could stand next to it unloaded and talk normally. With it loaded to 1500watts we had to move away about 3 meters and we could talk normally. I will be changing it to 5w30 synthetic Amsoil small engine oil as soon as the initial 10 hour run in is completed. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
