Very comfortable, well built, and a great value!
This futon frame was easy to assemble (I had my son help me to make it easier), and seems to be quite sturdy. The last futon set I bought many years ago had very, very firm (hard) mattress. This mattress is VERY comfortable. I took a nap on it a day or two after I unboxed the mattress and let it fully rise. This is a great addition to my office/extra guest room. The mattress is a little darker blue than it shows in the photo, a nice comfortable microfiber type cover. I would recommend this to anyone.
This item is exactly as described, it is very nice....I love the thickness and it is very comfortable and fits my futon frame perfectly which I bought from Big Lots for 99.00.
I love my new futon mattress. Its 8 inches thick and feels really good. Lots of cushion! My old one was only like 4 inches thick because it was so old. The size was great too. It fit right in. In the picture attached you can see the difference between the new one and old one.
I got the tan color. They do sell this cheaper on other websites. I just didn't want to hassle, as I bought it with a bed frame combo. It is super comfortable. I like the fact that the cover is removable and washable, and I am thinking of dyeing the fabric. But with some nice pillows may not need to. This is a heavy product. I cannot lift it by myself.
Very good value
Very comfortable as either a couch or to sleep on. On my futon, it needs to be taken off in order to shift from flat to couch position, which only takes about a minute and is no big deal. It goes from couch to flat easily. Seems very sturdy, although I've only had it a week. For what I needed, this was both a great price and excellent quality. At about 70 pounds, the box is a 2 person carry with it's size, but the way it's compressed, it's much smaller in the box, easy to open with a box cutter, and expands into shape quickly.
well worth the money
You cannot beat this price for a futon mattress. Especially one that is thicker than normal and that has coils. It's pretty stiff when it comes to turning it into a couch vs bed but I'm assuming once it is wore in is going to be much easier to deal with. My husband has a pet peeve with beds and he actually laid on it the other night and thought how comfortable it was.
So much better
I was hesitant, the last mattress i got my son from Walmart was awful. But this mattress is so much better, it's amazing!
Nice with comfort
This met our expectations based on other reviews, no smells or odors, it's nice
Great deal for the price...
I just got the mattress in the mail and using it for my futon....it is just like you see it online. It's firm to the touch and comfortable to sit on and folds pretty well onto my futon frame. I can see that it would be pretty comfortable to sleep on. The microfiber is soft but like others have said, after you unwrap it - there is a plastic like smell that lasts for a few days. I still smell it after now having it for about a week... It's best to have it shipped since its come in a cylinder like packaging the length of the mattress and a bit heavy. The mattress is shrink wrapped so all you have to do is cut it open and let it expand on its own. Overall, very happy with the mattress. And it's definitely not bad for the price! Hope you enjoy it!
Came a day early and it was very heavy. I underestimated the box size when opening it got so big I just love the thickness of it.it was bought for my kids for grandma house and I love it on their futon bunk bed I've even enjoy sitting on it myself
Premium Full Size Futon Mattress
Bought the Tan Full size. Great mattress for the price. Surprised how heavy it was, about 70lbs. Comes rolled up, just make sure you have plenty of room to unwrap because as soon as air hits it, it starts expanding pretty quickly. Good thickness and comfort. Appears well made. Awful chemical smell has taken about a week to dissipate. I covered it with thin towels and then sprinkled baking soda over the whole thing. But overall, I'm very pleased with my purchase.
We got it about two weeks ago and it's actually really nice! It is very firm and you can tell there are coils. It's really hard to get it to bend the first time to make it a couch which is why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. But the quality is good and it definitely looks nice.
Great product for price
It was a little difficult to get it out of the box but it unrolled just fine. My daughter loves it in her room and says it's comfy. To fold into couch position, I take it off and do it because it's difficult while on the frame.
Comfortable Even for an 8-month pregnant person!
This futon mattress is SO comfortable - when I was 8-9 months pregnant I actually had to come and sleep on this futon in the living room rather than my memory foam bed because for some reason it was the only place I could lay where my limbs wouldn't fall totally asleep at night. Somehow it succeeds at being very soft and very supportive at the same time. Must be those individually encased coils. PLUS it's a futon/couch! My piano students LOVED sitting on this couch while they wait for their next lesson, and their parents would always have a hard time getting them to get up from it, because they would just want to stay sitting lol. I did find it needs cushions or the seat is too deep otherwise. And I bought a zippered suede cover to protect it from spills/dirt. Would definitely recommend. I am thinking of getting one of these futon mattresses for my bed now! Lol.
waited 3 weeks to review- the real deal wow
this thing is a real mattress! It's been yrs since we had a futon, and they've come a long way! Heavy, arrived in box. best to let it "inflate" and sit flat for a few hours. It's exactly as described. There was a few cosmetic issue's, contacted DHP, she was great. Getting a replacement. only reason for 4 stars, and the issue was handled in 1 phone call. very impressed w/mattress, extremely happy w/customer service. waited few weeks before writing this to see if it held it's shape, comfort, etc. yes it has
Very Comfy, and Very heavy.
Very Comfy. I was worried it wouldn't be long enough to accommodate a tall person. But it is much larger than I expected. Same size a Full Size Bed Mattress. And just as heavy. It was difficult for one person to place onto Futon Frame it was so heavy. It fits the Aiden DHP futon frame I bought perfectly. And the frame shifts from sleeping position to seated position easily until the mattress was placed on it. Then it was difficult to get it to shift from bed position to seated position without help from 2nd person due to weight. I am leaving it in the seating position so hopefully it will break itself in by being bent in the middle after a while. But it is very comfortable for sleeping just like a regular mattress.
This mattress is so comfortable that its made our futon in our extra space my favorite place to be. I got the dark blue color, and its just so nice. I paired it with blue accent pillows and wall decor to really make this color pop in the room. Its heavy duty and changed my outlook on futons overall. Very comfy.
Very happy with this purchase
Very happy with this futon mattress. Extremely comfortable in both sitting and sleeping positions. I read reviews of a bad formaldehyde smell and people said it lasted for weeks. The enclosed pamphlet also says you will have that smell in the beginning. Here is the solution-I received it at 4 pm on a Friday. I opened it up flat on the frame as instructed. Yes it had have a smell similar to going into a dry cleaner shop. I generously sprayed fabreze into the air (not on the mattress itself) and turned on a fan towards the mattress. About 3 hours or so later with the fan still running I sprayed around the room again, keeping the fan on through the night. By 10 am the next morning we were all sitting on it watching tv. No smell. Well worth the little trouble I went through. We now have a very comfortable, nice looking futon in our tv room. And for the price it's great.
Versatile and comfortable
I just got it tonight. Going to use it as a mattress. Wish I knew about this earlier, would have gotten one as a sofa instead of a 400 dollar couch I got from Ikea. Very comfortable. I'm a side sleeper and finicky about comfortability and this is pretty good. Attached are pictures of my sheets pulled back so you can see what how I covered the futon. It fits a full box spring. Will eventually replace it with a full bed base from Walmart (my sheets are Walmart as well. It can easily convert to a futon bc you can feel where it separates in the top down the middle. Cover top is like black cotton shirt like a mix of cotton and nylon, sides and bottom are like suede. Looks easy to clean off with a lint brush if needed. Slightly ripped top opening it from the plastic wrap, a quarter inch cut, but immediately sewed it and can't see it (glad that it's black) Slight manufacturing smell to it like new car smell. Will most likely dissipate in a week or two, unlike memory foam toppers. Hope Walmart continues to carry this for a few years. If I move I would most likely buy another one of these to use as a sofa. My current sofa would probably cost just as much to ship.
I've had umpteen futon mattresses, with and without coils. This is my first pocket coil one. Here's my two cents: 1) shipping was on-time 2) mattress is as described 3) so far, it's very comfortable, better than an inner-spring, and far better than a foam mattress 4) it is vacum packed and will instantly expand 5) after unpacking, it needs to air out a bit 6) it is packed in such a way that you will HAVE to cut it out of the bag. So before you buy, make sure it's what you're looking for. 7) I am not sure that it will wear as slow as a traditional inner-spring so read number 10. 8) the creases in the picture are from the packing and will disappear over time. 9) the picture is the mattress with a doubled-over standard foam mattress in front of it. 10) Don't listen to people that talk about its comfort having owned it for 2 hours. If it breaks down, I will repost under the same name. If I don't, it is still comfortable and still not broken down.
