Nice and big!
Wow! This is one whopper of a mailbox! The pics don't do it justice! Honestly, I could go on vacation for two weeks and not have someone bring in my mail! Lol! I think it should save carriers a few trips to my door, as it will fit some packages a typical mailbox wouldn't. Assembly wasn't too difficult, my daughter helped. You need someone to hold it while your screwing it together. I like not having to go into the road to get my mail. The back door is a good idea, especially since in the ten years I've lived at my address, my mailbox has been hit by a car twice!! It's very sturdy and I like that it slides over your existing post. It does require a 4x4 wood post, not included, and won't work with a metal post. I am very pleased with this mailbox and seeing it in person, I think it was a very good deal! I would recommend!
Great customer service
We had one of these at our previous address and they are great. The only issue we had was when we received the shipment, the doors for the mailbox were missing. However, Walmart was great and shipped a replacement and did not require I send the defective one back. So now I have 1 3/4 mailboxes, so in case someone hits it or something else happens, I have extra parts.
Walmart Had It!!!
Fast delivery great price thanks again!
I love it a lot. There is no problem putting it together, it's really easy with the post hole digger. Just love it!
Absolutely perfect. Looks great and is exactly what we wanted.
Very Pleased So Far.
I did not buy this at Walmart because I found it at a local home improvement store and I like to see the item, if at all possible, rather than buying on-line. Regarding the 4X4 vs. 3.5X3.5 post review, I had the smaller size (standard 4X4 these days of reduced sizes for lumber) and it installed fine and I was very surprised to see that the doors do stay closed -- snap open and closed. Also pretty easy to assemble but I hired it done. All the parts were there. It does take 2 people as you have to squeeze the sides of the box together to insert the screws and so that the doors will fit correctly. Desert southwest so not worried about snow plows. That might be a concern. I think it is a good product and attraction of made in the USA which I try to support. Did buy the Gibraltar box with post, less expensive model, at my local Walmart just as a back up in case this one was not what advertised. Didn't need the back-up.
really like my new mailbox. easy to put together.
BIG - BEAUTIFUL - GREEN
Best looking mail box in the neighborhood; it's a big neighborhood too! It's green is a very nice green for a mail box to be. I love it , and it holds heaps of letters, greetings, magazines, catalogues, and medium packages.
The box was fine. One problem with it is the back flap didn't stay in place and I had to place tape on the notches that are supposed to hold it to keep it in place
Easy to Assemble
Mailbox looks great, heavy duty and was easy for 1 person to assemble and install. The only issue was that one of the mailbox doors was loose and would not remain shut. I used some clear silicone to make a tighter connection and the door now remains shut.
DO NOT BUY if you have a 4"x4" post!
I bought this mailbox because the manufacturer said it was to be installed over a 4"x4" post -- THAT IS INCORRECT!!! It will not fit over a 4"x4" post, and after contacting their customer support, they never intended for it to fit over a 4"x4" post. It will, in fact, fit over a 3.5"x3.5" . THIS is the replay I got from the company: "None of our mailboxes or posts are designed to fit on a True 4” x 4” post. They are intended to fit on a 4x4 post which measures 3.5” x 3.5”. This is the standard sized post sold at hardware stores. Jeremy" Guess what??? I did not go to a hardware store today to buy a post, I already had an installed post which measures......wait for it.....a TRUE 4"x4"!!!!!!!!!!!!! The company should state the real size post their mailboxes are designed to fit. Most standardized lumber measures a good bit smaller than their given sizes, so, for the sake of clarity, Gibraltar say what they mean, not what they think people will think they mean. On a quality note, the plastic of this mailbox is not very heavy, and I do not think it will last long in places subjected to snow plows. If you live in a warm climate, might be fine, but buy something else if it will be installed in an area subjected to thrown snow.
