Beautiful, Economical, and checks ALL the boxes
Love this desktop, its lightweight, looks good and is all set for upgrades.
Setup was a breeze and aesthetics are perfect.
Future-proofed with top WiFi and Bluetooth and tons of room inside.
Really amazing value for what you get and I used this for over a month before posting this review.
Lots of PROs and the CONs are mostly self-explanatory.
-Looks great and lightweight
-Has superb 10th gen i5-10400 processor
-Hard Drive is M.2 SSD (fastest type on market)
-4 SS 3.1 USBs on front and 4 more on back
-DVD-Writer! So many desktops omit these now!
-Tons of space inside for more Hard Drives, video card, etc.
-Fully upgradable ram with empty ram slot
-Integrated Media Card reader on front
-RAM is only 8GB (you should always upgrade OEM RAM anyway)
-No video card (perfect for me, less expensive and you can use your own)
-Motherboard could use more video ports (if you don't have a video card)
Excellent Starter PC
This desktop is excellent for young kids starting out. Easy to setup and plug in usb with other accessories. With stay at home becoming more part of the norm this desktop made it easy for homework and extra assignments. Fast and enough hard drive space to take care of your overall basic needs. I hooked up an external speaker for a surround sound experience. All the extra USB inputs makes sharing a breeze
Small, compact fast pre-built PC
This is a good desktop PC for general productivity. It has small form factor. No assembly required. Just power it up and connect to a monitor. Software setup was very fast. I was done with that in about 10 minutes. The SSD loads extremely fast compared to the HDD in my laptop. I plan to use it mainly for web browsing and streaming content.
This HP tower desktop computer is a power house!!
This HP Pavilion Desktop TP01-1023w is absolutely awesome!!! It was so easy to set up. The instructions are simple and make it easy to get everything connected and up and running. The programs it comes with are really great. Each one gives you step by step to set each one of those up. It has a lot of ports including multiple USB ports, SD slot, headphone jack, HDMI, etc. The keyboard and mouse are designed very nice and are comfortable to use. They both work well. The graphics and speed on this computer are outstanding!! You can surf the web, watch movies, play video games, etc with lightning speed and runs smoothly, no lagging. You can do multiple things at once and this computer has so many features that it gives you the capability to do so much. It has a 10th generation Intel Core i5-10400 processor and this definitely has the power to run your games seamlessly and with exceptional speed. You will be as impressed as I am. It comes with 256gb storage, but has the capability of expandable drives. It has Windows 10 home, which I really love. The only downfall in my opinion is the DVD writer drive. It is set up vertically and in my opinion I don't like as well as the horizontal set up. You push the button and it pops open, but not all the way. You have to pull it open, then put the cd/DVD in but you have to press and snap it into place. With it being vertically and it feel kind of flimsy it makes me scared I might snap it. As long as your mindful and careful it won't be an issue. Overall this desktop is one of the best that I have tried and/or bought. It is quite impressive and I would definitely recommend it for it's quality, performance, and features.
Nice HP Tower
Hi, I got this HP Pavilion Desktop PC Intel Core i5 Professor as a review item and it works great! It comes with a wired keyboard and also with and wired mouse included! Comes with Windows 10 operating system and hard drive 256gb SSD has 8gb DDR4 go memory and also DVD writer it also has multiple ports located on the front of the tower which makes it easy to connect all and also comes with USB-C! This can be use for work, school and also for gamers! It's at a very economical cost and from a very well known brand HP can't go wrong with that. My Conputer instructor says this is better than Apple I asked him regarding Tower and he approved it so there it is!
Love HP computers
This is a slick looking desktop computer. I usually use a laptop but decided to give this desktop a try and I am glad that I did. It is way faster than my laptop and looks really cool. I hooked it up to am old flat screen tv and it looks great. I LOVE the fact that it has bluetooth! I can easily hook it up to my Cricut that is in the other room, no wires required! Also I can put it anywhere as long as I have an outlet, no cable coming out of the wall required. It has a CD rom right on the front for easy access and all of the other ports are right on the front which makes them easy to get to. I had this computer up and running within minutes. It was SO easy. It has a core 15 intel processor. I have always like HP and never run into any issues with their computers. It comes with a keyboard and a mouse. If I ever need another desk top it will definately have bluetooth, it makes it so much easier to hook up to your other bluetooth enabled devices. Will definately recommend this desktop computer to a friend or family member.
Great PC for student, gamer, etc
This light weight HP PC tower comes with lots of USB ports and is very easy to set up. Once everything is setup and turned on, you can take a tour of what is available on your new computer. There is a nice search bar located at the bottom of the main screen in which you can immediately search for anything you want. There is also an icon for your mail that you can just click on and access your mail right from the main screen. Setting up e-mail was a breeze. Since I had no idea what Microsoft Edge was, I looked it up. Microsoft Edge replaces Internet Explorer and automatically comes with Windows 10.
There are a few minor things I didn't like. I wasn't able to adjust the time on the clock that is located at the lower right corner of the screen. When I clicked on the clock, it showed me the time as well as a calendar. I could add important dates at that location if I wanted. I had to adjust the clock under settings. Also, I had to change the setting for the printer to manual from automatic. The printer was not printing but after I made that adjustment in settings, it printed like a champ. I may change out the keyboard that came with the computer. I prefer a keyboard that is more touch sensitive. With this one, you really have to press the keys kind of hard.
If you are new to computers, to get to settings, just click on the very first icon that looks like a window in the far left lower corner of the screen. From there, you will see a list of things that can be done from that location. It is also the same location in which you safely power off your computer (icon that looks like a circle with a vertical line on top).
Overall, this is a really good computer with a lot of features that make it easy to use whether you're a gamer, a student, or working from home. I love the many USB ports. I also love how light weight this PC tower is and also that it came with a keyboard and mouse. The only things you would need would be a monitor and printer, if you didn't already have those items on hand.
Built to last!
This desktop PC is excellent quality. It's very lightweight, not bulky, setup is quick and easy with Windows already preinstalled and customized with all the essential programs. The WiFi and Bluetooth enabled devices connect quickly. The wired keyboard and mouse works very smooth and the PC runs very fast and efficiently overall. I highly recommend you to purchase this product. I received this product free as part of the Walmart Spark Reviewer Program. However all opinions are my own
I needed a new computer and decided to order the HP Pavilion Desktop TP01-1023w. Computers have come a long way as I was very surprised with how compact this desktop computer was. The computer I'm replacing is three times the size of this one. The case is sleek and the brushed aluminum front makes this computer look sharp! There are plenty of USB ports on the front and back for all of your devices. There is also a card reader on the front which is something I have always preferred on a computer. The computer also comes with a keyboard and mouse. The keyboard has a design that is similar to that of a laptop with soft keys and the mouse is also sleek in design, fitting in my hand comfortably. This computer comes with a fast Intel I5 Six Core Processor, 8 GB of Memory and a 256 GB SSD drive with Windows 10 Home 64bit. I turned the PC on and went through all the steps of setting it up and installing all the necessary updates. After that, I rebooted and I was like WOW! I could not believe how fast this thing booted up as it was to the desktop in under 5 seconds. This computer ran multiple programs with ease. The picture quality for DVD's and streaming look great. The computer also has Bluetooth which works really well with my wireless controller. You can play normal games on this computer like web games or games that don't require high demanding graphics. If you want to play more detailed games or the new popular game titles, this computer will not be able to play them. Overall, this is a very fast computer and is great for daily home/office use. There is even room to expand/upgrade to get more years of use. HP has always put fast/reliable computers on the market and they are a brand you can trust.
I paired this HP tower with my Dell 24" monitor. I love the ssd, always wish there was more space, but what I'm using this for, it works fine. It's a quick little machine, but with only 8 gb memory it does lag a bit in some applications. The size is amazing. It's very lightweight and pretty compact for a tower. The mouse and keyboard that were included work great, although if you want less cordless, definitely upgrade to wireless. I'm overall impressed and would recommend this unit. It's great for someone who doesn't want to download a ton, and beginner computer users. We were able to download the entire sims 4 collection and have a bit of room left. The game runs fairly smooth and graphics look great.
Fast and easy to use
This desktop comes with all the bells and whistles! I'm not much of a computer geek, and don't have a good appreciation for all the computer jargon about memory, processors, internal storage, etc. BUT I do know a good machine when I use one! This HP Tower desktop checks all the boxes! Mainly...it's FAST and EASY to use! It comes equipped with Windows 10 Home, has 9 accessible USB ports and has Bluetooth technology integrated! Plus, I really like the sleek design with the silver brushed finish. We hooked it up to a TV as the monitor, it comes with the keyboard & mouse. Great computer, very happy!
This is a Pavilion i5 tower from HP. This was super simple to set up right out of the box. I really like the look of this tower. The tower has a brushed polished silver finish which makes this look clean and stylish. This tower is not overly large which makes this easy to set up anywhere in your home or office space. If you are someone who likes to game or just browse the internet this high performance technology helps everything stream fast and efficient. I really like the fact that on the front of the tower there are multiple ports so that I can connect any of my devices without having to spin around to reach to the back. This comes with Windows 10 Home, which is a nice addition to have. Since this has UHD graphics it allows your games to run without glitching, which my son appreciates. What also is nice is that you can play DVDs on your computer. Overall this is a tower that would work for anyone or a family. You can use this for just your typical browsing, to playing games, or watching movies, this does it all. This is a great product that works seamlessly.
Absolutely recommend this pc
This review is for the HP Pavilion Desktop model TP01-1023w. After several years of doing all my computing on laptops, tablets and smartphones, I have to admit it is so refreshing having a faster processor than a desktop offers. This one has a 10th generation intel core i5 cpu at 2.90 ghz. I ordered a 24 inch monitor for this computer. It also came with 8gb of ram installed. Although it is super fast out of the box, I will be maxing out the memory and purchasing 2 sticks of 16gb of ram bringing the total of 32gb of memory. Most people will not need to do this but I make it my personal choice to max out the memory on any new device I get. Again, this is just a personal preference. This HP has a very sleek design and should fit any desk area, either on the desk top or on the floor. Setting up the account was a very painless process. Windows 10 (64 bit operating system) walks you thru it, along with setting up some HP apps and programs. In addition to an email account and password, you can add a PIN during setup. It's always good to have a backup for access to any device. This will be used as a home computer mainly for my daughters school work, and playing some of her games. The hard drive is only 256gb, but it is my first ssd, so it is a much better technology than the sata hds I had in the past. Over time I may add hard drive space, but that is not a concern at present since there is plenty of usb ports for mobile storage devices. Overall this is a Great desktop computer and there is plenty of room for expanding if you so choose. 5 stars.
Quiet and smooth
I love that this HP Pavilion Desktop is lightweight so I can clean around it easily. It boots up really quickly. No trouble setting up what so ever. Do it step by step on your screen and your good to go. You have to set up with your email and a pin code for your protection of others going in your files. As soon as I input my email in in the set up and applied, my screen saver from my prior computer was on the monitor screen, with out me doing anything else.
You do not need the Ethernet wire, you can just connect it by WiFi ,if your internet box has those capabilities. I don't know many modems that do that besides the laptops and such.
The tower is extremely quiet unlike other ones that make that loud annoying fan or modem loading sound. A great feature that it has, is its many USB ports on the front of the tower for easy access. It makes hooking up all your basic connections in back of the tower less confusing.
It comes with the keyboard, mouse and tower (which some call the modem). So for does who are wondering, it does not come with a monitor. I have a LG monitor that it works excellent with. Don't forget speakers and a camera or mic if you do not have it already in hand. Otherwise for the speed and memory for what I use my desktop for, this works wonderfully.
For gamers out there, it can play your basic online games. But for your larger file type games, it can't handle them. So I wouldn't recommend this for hardcore gamers.
Another nice thing is that you can hook it up to a smart tv with no issues. So I'm undecided if I want to keep it on my smaller monitor or my smart tv. It's an excellent Desktop for a reasonable price and for all that you can do. I'm still learning as I try new things on this desktop.
This HP TP01-1023w Pavilion i5 model tower computer is excellent! The mini-ATX form factor case is the perfect size whether sitting beside of or on your desk. The case is black metal with a classy, brushed silver front. The power button has a mellow white glow while in operation. I appreciate that the case is easy to open by simply loosening one screw and sliding the side cover off. I also like that there are nine of the latest, fastest USB drive slots for plugging in your drives and accessories. There is also a memory card slot.
Under the hood is a very snappy, tenth generation, six core, Intel Core i5-10400 CPU running at 2.90 GHz base up to a boosted 4.3 GHZ. This processor effortlessly ran games and various other tasks I could throw at it. The included 8 GB of DDR4-2666 SDRAM Samsung memory has been more than enough for my needs so far. It is cheap and easy to add more memory if needed. The 256 GB PCIe NVMe M.2 solid state drive by KIOXIA, formally Toshiba, is almost instant while booting up and opening applications. There are two 3.5” expansion bays inside the case if you need to add more capacity. HP even included a small bag of screws.
I am glad that a DVD re-writable drive is also included for my CDs and DVDs. The drive is the same as a slim laptop drive, mounted vertically. I loaded my music CDs and it quickly ripped them to the computer. I was also able to watch movie and concert DVDs without issue. The included wired keyboard is slightly larger than a laptop keyboard and has a similar feel. The included wired scroll mouse is also very sleek and functional.
A monitor is not included. There is an HDMI and VGA port for your display of choice. Monitor cables are also not included. After purchasing a cable from Walmart, I tested the computer using an HP 1080P computer monitor and a LG brand 720P television that is a few years old. The integrated Intel graphics supports dual monitors. The computer did not have any problems instantly detecting either monitor and setting the perfect display settings. It looks especially beautiful on my LG 32” 720P television! If you have a 1080P or 4K television it should look phenomenal since it supports up to 4K resolution. The integrated Intel graphics had no issues playing graphic intensive games on their best setting with smooth, vibrant detail. Speakers are not included, but the HDMI cable should provide sound if your monitor has built-in speakers and an HDMI port. On the back of the case are also speaker, line-in and microphone jacks. The front of the case also has a combined headset/ microphone jack.
The computer comes with built-in WiFi and Bluetooth. They both quickly connect and I have not had any issues with either. The operating system is Microsoft Windows 10 which includes a lot of features. The computer also includes a one year limited hardware warranty. Overall, this is an awesome computer that I highly recommend!
Does everything you want quickly!
This is a very fast, quiet computer. Far stronger than I expected I even put it to a stress test that most computers couldn't handle. After setting it up I installed I tested the usual sites like facebook, youtube, netflix, hulu and all came through loading up videos lightning fast. I then installed Final Fantasy 14 and it loaded up and played smoothly. Now I really wanted to test it so I downloaded and booted up Black desert online which is a resource hungry game. Most computers have trouble even loading it yet alone playing it smoothly. Well I was thrilled to see that this HP computer not only loaded it but played it very smoothly as you can see from the picture I took during game play. For the price of this desktop you are more than getting your money's worth. If it can handle all I put it through without missing a beat it will handle your daily computer needs for years to come. HP's are very reliable solid computers. 5 stars for this great looking and impressive unit. The specs are: Memory

Great computer, but why not wireless accessories?
This is the first desktop computer I've owned in ages... It's probably been since 2004. In the interim, I've relied on laptops and mobile devices, since so much of my computer use has been very much on-demand. But now that wireless accessories are cheap and effective, I thought hey, wouldn't it be nice if I could have something that just stays hooked up to my TV? So that's where this little guy's parked. I guess because it's been a while, I assumed it would be much bulkier, but it's actually fairly compact, coming in around 13" tall, 12" deep, and 6" wide - a perfect fit for my entertainment center. It was very easy to set up (it walks you through), and it looks fantastic on my TV (super easy to connect, just takes an HDMI cable). Getting on my WiFi network was so easy I almost forgot I did it. Performance so far is stellar, though I'm no specs expert. I suspect if you're looking at computers at Walmart, you're no specialist either, and just looking for something that boasts good all-around performance. This does very well on that front. Loading is quick, graphics look great, video's solid, and there's plenty of ports for peripherals.
Do note that the SSD storage drive is separate from the boot (OS) drive, which has pros and cons. On the one hand, you can do things like remove and reinstall the OS without losing stored files. On the other, you might need to backup storage and OS information separately. Think of the SSD as a 256GB of built-in external storage, because that's how it performs.
The DVD writer is a nice touch too, and physically, it's not what I expected. I thought it'd just be an empty tray that fully extends with the push of a button, but it's actually got the spinning apparatus in the moving tray. You have to snap the disc in place before closing the tray. Also, when you press the eject button, I just comes out a tiny bit, leaving you to pull it the rest of the way. I suppose that allows them to go with a spring-loaded mechanism instead of a motorized tray, which should be a bit more durable in the long run. It's also probably cheaper.
My only real gripe about this computer is the keyboard and mouse that are included. They work fine, and they're nicely designed, but it's 2020... why aren't wireless versions standard? I replaced mine immediately, so I'm able to work from the couch. If you don't already have a set, I recommend you budget an extra $30-$50 for these, as I'd consider them crucial to improving your experience.
It works great for what I need and is slim enough to fit where I need it to I have my tv connected as a monitor and it is awesome I love it and will definitely
Be getting one for my daughter
I'm not a power user or gamer -- just a 75-yr-old guy who exchanges email, surfs the web for news, and maintains a couple of WordPress websites.
My old Windows 7 computer was giving me fits -- slow, slower, even slower; crashed.
Bought this one after a week of research and am very happy.
-- Ordering process was smooth.
-- Delivery was fast -- two days after order.
-- Set up was simple. I had saved my documents and photos to thumb drives, so, they moved over easily. I had five applications on CD that installed without a problem.
Really like MS Edge browser.
Had issues from Day one
It had to update the software, I understand, but when it tried to reboot, it got stuck on the "resetting" screen. After 2 hours, I finally got it past that and it booted up. It's ok for regular web browsing, but not really good for simple games, it tends to freeze. If the power button was any smaller, I don't think I could find it!
It's pretty fast for regular things, in general. It's a pretty solid unit and I love all the ports and the optical drive, except it's facing the wrong direction, so I have it laying down on it's side.
Overall, it's ok. Just not 5 star worthy.
