I bought this bicycle at Newburgh, NY Walmart with the intention to ride it home 17 miles to New Paltz, NY.. At the store, I checked it out, made sure everything was "tight" and it was.. Bottom bracket was on snug, Wheels were fairly "trued up", and everything seemed tight, assembler did fine job!!
The look of the bike is BEAUTIFUL. Nice black finish, and fairly light-weight. On my way home, literally half way in Modena, I notice the crank-arm was SPONGY. All of a sudden the arm of the crank fell off on State Road 32. Thank God the bus came an hour later and I was able to get home that way. I'm not saying "DONT BUY THIS BIKE", I am saying. if you are a serious rider, you probably DONT want this bike unless you are a GOOD BIKE MECHANIC. Be prepared to make your own adjustments, bring tools on long rides and be prepared to probably replace some of the components. I don't blame Wal-Mart. It's $79.00 bike THE VALUE and the LOOK CAN'T be beat. I had no patience to try to repair this nice little bicycle, so I returned it to the store up in Kingston, NY several days later.. Great bicycle for riding around the trailer park or around your town, NOT for long distance!
You get what you pay for, I DON'T BLAME Wal-Mart Company, I have had bikes at Target do the same thing!!!
