I was surprised with the small size of the carton it arrived in. Assembly went without any problems. Gym is exactly what i wanted - NOTE: If you can have it shipped "Site to Store" do it, i thought the carton would have been larger so i had it shipped to my home (EXPENSIVE mistake). There's nothing else to say except that the Weider 1120 Gym is money well spent.
If you follow the instructions, it is easy to put together. I do wish it had a lower weight setting. The lowest weight amount for the product is 16 lbs. For someone starting out on weight lifting and out of shape, it is a little much for some exercises. My husband is tall and skinny and can not use the preacher curl bar because his arms are too long.
The machine would be a lot more useful if it had a good set of instructions for the exercises you can do with it. There is a generic set of instructions that donot do a lot of good. If I had not just been to a good exercise club with good equipment I would have had no idea what to do with this machine. It is certainly not self explanatory. The exercises using the bottom pulley are a lot harder because there is a lot of resistance at the start and then it releases into almost none. There is single handle that really gives no idea as to how it should be used and I have had to make up something to get anything out of it. I am making the machine work but it could be so much better with better instructions.
I don't have a whole lot of problems with this gym. the bottom cable is hard to move, but other than that, its a great gym. Now as far as getting it sent to your home, I would think twice. If you can get it sent site to store, do it by all means. The first time it was sent, it never arrived, so they sent another one. It arrived late, was banged up, and was missing a weight. So get it site to store, and ask to make sure all the weights are there.
