I thought this book would be good because the first book "Tithe" was good. I have found this book rather boring. I thought this book would have just about the same characters as the first one, it doesn't. Roiben was mentioned once so far (I'm about 100 pages from the end). The only time it gets interesting is when Val starts working with Ravus. Then after she leaves his home it gets boring again. From the beginning to where I'm at now you could skip this book and not miss a beat. I read the third book second instead of last and I knew exactly what was going on. The only characters that are in the second and third book are Luis and Dave. Val and Ruth and Ravus come in at the very last chapter in "Ironside". Only reading book because I already started it.
