During my online shopping, The Specs for this 10ft kayak mislead me to believe that it could accommodate my 6'2", 212# body size/mass, but in reality, it cannot adequately do so with proper steer-ability & roll-stability. The stationary, molded seat (for me) is too far forward, which places the nose of the craft too far down in the water, which leads to loss of steer-ability. My height, & upper torso weight, leads to an unstable condition, where the craft wants to flip over: this tendency commands that I lean back & slouch down to facilitate better control. If I sit straight up, the craft wants to roll... which it did during a squall & set me adrift, with loss of valuable gear!
Solution: I should have purchased the 12ft model for myself, which would solve both of the height & weight discrepancies mentioned above.
The 10ft model is great for my wife &/or children. (I will see about exchanging my 10ft model for the more expensive 12ft Sun Dolphin Journey, Fishing Kayak)
