Using the GTX 760 the way it came in the box, but with updated BIOS, I can not see any performance difference between the one being replaced and the GTX 760. That is with the type of games that I play, such as Civilization V at max settings. The GTX 760 has great cooling and it did not increase the noise level, when compared to the GTX 285. I did not check to see if there was any difference in frame rates, as I do not care what they are. All I care about is that I have a very good visual experence, and the old and new GPUs provided that. Very easy to install. The 750W power supply in my unit had all the necessay cables for the GPU. I replaced the FX 285 because it was starting to have reliability issues.

My 4-year old video card gave up the ghost so I began researching the new generation of cards. I have been a Radeon fan for years but Radeons have suddenly increased in price due to bitcoin speculators so they rapidly moved out of my price range. I started looking at NVidia's offerings and was impressed by what I saw. The card was easy to install but my system locked up several times trying to boot with it. I traced the problem to insufficient available power from my 500W power supply. After I removed some of my power hungry accessories, the system booted up quickly. I downloaded the drivers and everything worked well afterwards. The only other problem I had was installing the GeForce Experience software. Took 3 tries but got it going. I then found I didn't need it!
