I cannot properly use a normal hula-hoop. As in, when I was younger, I would often try it but I cannot seem to make it stay on my waist. When I received the Gold's Gym Hula Hoop, I was eager to try it because it's weighted. I wanted to do some light cardio while watching TV so I bought this. It arrived in a box, disassembled. There is an included DVD and a short instruction paper. I was able to assemble it easily and the outside has a foam covering. After using it for the first time (about 20 minutes), my stomach felt bruised but after reading through other thoughts about weighted hula hoops, I learned that it's just normal. I was also able to make it stay on my waist the first time I used it. I rested my tummy for 2 days and used it again. It still felt a bit bruised but it got better. Now, I am able to use this for 30 minutes without feeling any pain afterwards. I like that I can move and exercise my waist while watching TV.
