I got this phone at Best Buy in August of last year. The person who set it up set it up for a monthly plan even though I didn't want that. As soon as that got worked out and I was 'Pay as you go' all was good.
I got this phone as a secondary to use when I travel back and forth to college for classes. I have a four hour drive twice a week and this phone is wonderful for that! It also gets weather updates for my area automatically with no charges. This phone warned me there was a tornado warning in my area when it wasn't even reported on the news or on the weather radio! I never downloaded anything to get this!
Also texting is easy to learn and teach on this phone. Though mine didn't have a camera which is the only reason I rate it a 4. It survived being dropped on concrete. And the sound is off if the phone is right next to your mouth, this can be avoided by the speaker phone feature easily enough.
It is a good phone as a backup for a traveling student. I turned my main cell phone off because the phone bill was outrageous and I didn't use the phone much. Just to let people know when I get to a place and when I'm leaving and to keep updated with school related stuff. The $25 phone card will last up to 3 months if you don't use up the minutes by then.
I personally think this was a wise choice for me. I hope this helps.
Good cell phone for my 9 year old
If your want an inexpensive cell phone that is just a cell phone
than this is what you want.
It is very basic and easy to use.It works well.
The price may be inexpensive, but the phone is priceless. It does exactly what I need it to do. Love my phone. Will recommend it to everyone.
I bought this phone for my tech illiterate mother to use on her phone network using a SIM. What I ended up finding out was that AT&T would not allow the phone to be unlocked unless it was active for 6 months. Walmart was cooperative in allowing me to return it without any issues.
This is a very basic phone. It has no Bluetooth, that's bad, it has no camera, who cares and I can't change ring tones. I'm still looking. Confusion, Speaker part of phone works when "Speaker Off" is indicated on screen, go figure.
for cheap and quality service hard to beat
When you're on a budget and you have a computer at home. Don't make many calls. What more do you need. This phone has better voice reproduction than the smart that I used to have, I put it on speaker and the sound is great. Texts do take a little work though, other than that. Good buy!
met my needs for a simple phone to carry for emergencies
I got the phone for my elderly parent for about 10 dollars. Wanted a basic phone for them. Did not like the phone at all. Screen is very small, graphics suck, volume and ringtones are not that loud. I returned the phone. Pay 5 extra dollars to purchase the Samsung a157V for a good basic phone.
It was a nice little cell phone I was disappointed they could not activate it. I would recommend it but they need to check for service in their area.
no good bad sound
It's a good basic phone.
I ordered this phone for my son. He has to stay after school for tudor 2x/week. He needs a simple phone to call home when he stays back. This phone is small and has all the functions like texting, email, and it's a prepaid phone.
