An Old Disney Movie has been Revived. During our family vacation to Edinburgh Scotland, we saw the statue of Greyfrier's Bobby and his grave in the Kirkyard. I knew the story and told it to my children.
My wife was impressed and wondered how I knew this story. I told my wife of the Disney Movie I saw when I was a child, on the old Disney Sunday night special.
I found it at Walmart when we returned home and had to get it.
This is wonderful true story of a faithful little Skye Terrier dog that live more then a hundred years ago. Base on Eleanor Atkinson's book it is about 80% accurate to the real story of Bobby. It is an excellent family movie especially for children. The only thing I think Disney should have put a commentary at the end telling the rest of the story of how Bobby stayed by his masters grave for fourteen years until he died in 1872, and the inscription on his tombstone "Let his Loyalty & Devotion be a lesson to us all"
I saw this movie when it first came out. In my opinion it is one of the most beautiful Walt Disney Movies ever made. The rating for this could be G or PG (really stretching it). I can't say enough good things about this movie.
I couldn't ask for better service. I recommend this movie to anyone that loves dogs. This is a great movie.
