For newborns items must be soft and durable. That is what I get with the Simply Soft yarn. Also, the cost is low enough for me to afford. It does split when I am crocheting, and I wish Caron would work on that. But I love this yarn.

Unfortunately, I went to my local Walmart to pick up the items I ordered and they were sent to the wrong store. I bought what I wanted while I was there so it wasn't a big deal but its not worth the effort to place order and go to the store to get it. I'll just go and hope they have enough of what I want the next time I am making a large afghan.

The color is beautifully saturated and it has a subtle shine when it is worked up that my son just loves. For this I give it 4 stars because I did have some issues with the yarn not being evenly spun. In some areas the yarn is thicker, knotted looking and cannot be worked into the piece I am making. I have to cut and tie the yarn to make it work. Since I am making a sweater out of the yarn this is concerning, but workable. So far I am finding that this problem is very limited and the unusable yarn is very short pieces so I would still recommend the yarn. I have not had any tied ends in the skeins which is nice. This yarn does like to stick ...
