Great performance, good pictures. Night pictures seemed more clear on 4 Mega Pixels than on 8. It was as if the IR illumination was too much for 8 MP and all you would see was a bright white figure with little detail at close range.
Been considering a trail cam for a while, our son has one and emails his pics to us, so after doing my homework, and picking his brain, decided on the Browning Force Recon. COULD NOT BE HAPPIER! We have had it out about 2 weeks and it usually takes anywhere from 15 to 35 pics a day on the trail cam setting. A mixture of day and night. Still has 96% battery life left and we just have Rayovac Alkalines in it. We also played with it quite a bit getting it up and running and tweaking it to our liking. My advice......go to the website www.trailcampro.com. They have pics and discussion of all of the trail cams they review. They have a first time buyers guide that describes each feature available on trail cams and what they do, then you can fill out a Trail Cam Selection guide which lets you choose what features are important to you, and then shows you a selection. Make a list of what is really important to you that you cant live without, then go from there. We swap 4GB SDHC cards in and out every few days, and that is PLENTY of space. We have it set on 8MP and have found the pics best for us that way. Our camera faces the rising sun through the woods and still takes great pics! I found the best prices from WalMart and you can get the Extended 2 yr warranty for less than $20 on this unit which gives it a 3 year warranty. We have definitely recommended this to others, and may purchase more for other areas of the woods!
I bought one had to send it back took video for a week wouldn't take video after that. They ship me a new one took a week because they (Browning) uses snail mail. Got the second one and stealth cam battery pack 12V to add to it. so far so good. FYI if you are buying for the sound or longer video the sound only picks crickets and wind me and my buddy tried it for distance 5 feet at best. 2 minute video during the day at night still 30 seconds because IR will deplete the batteries they don't tell you that on the box.
i bought 2 one is bad one is good called browning not that helpfull cameras are only 1 week old
