One must understand what one is buying. The cmos imagine sensor is not very good in low light situations, can give you problems under florescent lighting and while zooming the picture can skew or flex on you, this is the downfall of the cmos sensor. If you zoom, I'd recommend using a tripod for added stablity. There is no mic jack or ear piece jack to the camera. It does NOT work on Mac computers. The battery is NOT long lasting enough for high school football games. It will not make you a chocolate Mocha either. I'm stating the obvious based on people comments about this camcorder I read. The camera does have it's limitations, as stated above. AGAIN this is NOT a high end camera nor should you expect HIGH end performance. I have found it performs pretty well for my youtube videos. The video is good to great(the display is a bit deceptive of the actual video quality, it's actually better) and the audio is very good. The zoom noise is minimal, and I don't hear the auto focus motor noise period. The auto focus while zooming is slow to laggish at times(cmos sensor trait). All around I like the camera..practice using it, learn it..and work within it's limitations and you'll be happy with your purchase. For what it is, it is a very easy to use, functional camcorder. Also performs well in colder weather, though battery life will suffer. Give it time to adjust to temperature changes before using though!
