I have purchased 5 Furbys as Christmas presents for my goddaughter and nieces and nephews. My nephews and I had so much fun with theirs, they bought one for me for my birthday last January. My sister bought 2 for her godchildren. That makes 8 Furbys. We absolutely love them. They seem to change gender and personalities. We (us AND the Furbys) have the most fun when we get together for a Fuby party. It's unfortunate that the other two people who wrote reviews are having so much trouble. I read the reviews and had to let you know that they can REALLY be a lot of fun. We REALLY enjoy ours.
I do not often feel the need to review a toy. A toy by nature should be fun and exciting but this Furby ordeal has been anything but. Our daughter first received one as a Xmas gift which died promptly three days after installing fresh super Duracell batteries. She cried for 43 minutes. We were not able to find the original Teal so we bought this one instead. At the same time we purchased a black one. The blue with yellow one died after three hours and the black one after a week. I replaced the batteries and I was instructed by the company to hit the reset button which is not an easy fix. It needs a screwdriver to get to the battery section and then a pen to hit a small blue smidge of a button. Still no life so I contacted the company again and received poor customer service. There must be a better choice for a toy so save your money and mental health by finding it.
Much to their excitement, my 3 daughters each received a Furby for Christmas. That excitement started to fade when a few days later one of them suddenly stopped working. We replaced the batteries and pushed the reset button and it came back to life. A couple of weeks later, another one of them suddenly stopped working. We tried new batteries and resetting it and nothing worked. We had to return it and swap it out for another color (which my daughter wasn't that happy about).
Now, again, the first one that stopped working on us has done it again. We reset it and minutes later it stops working again.
It is very disappointing that 2 out of 3 of them have so far been faulty. I would understand if these were cheap toys or if my kids were rough with them, but that is not the case.
I also noticed on the official Furby website there's conveniently no link to contact them!!
I hope that we can exchange yet another one for one that works. :(
I have purchased two since 12/13 and I am purchasing another today for my grand-daughter. We have not had any issues, actually the children love them and continue to play with them still to this day. I am sorry others had a bad experience, it is worth giving a try and see for yourself.
