I was very, disappointed. It locked in fine to my culligan pitcher but took forever to filter water if at all. Taste was ok. I thought the culligan filter was slow. This is worse to not at all. Very, frustrating. I'm going back to original culligan filter or brita which is much better. Not worth the $3 I saved.
This filter works great in a Britta.
We have very heavily chlorinated water and I can't stand the taste so I have used a Pur water pitcher for years. Pur makes my water taste like spring water. I have always been very happy with the product but my mom suggested we try the less expensive filter so we purchased the great value filter. The filter did not fit into my pitcher as well as the Pur one did. The Pur filter locks securely into place with no wiggle room, no leaks. The great value filter did not lock and jiggled until I pressed it down firmly from the top. It did not leak but still is not as secure and I think if my kids bump the pitcher on the counter it will loosen and leak.
As far as filtering quality, I can still taste the chlorine, the water does not have the fresh tasteless quality I get with Pur. I did not test the quality with a testing kit but since the chlorine is my main concern this filter is a no go for me. If it can't remove the chlorine then it probably won't remove harmful stuff either. I will not buy it again, it was money wasted. The Pur filter is $7.19 for great tasting water and a well fitting, locking filter VS $4.97 for poor filtration and ill fitting design.
The item is an exact match to my Britta pitcher's replacement filter needs, at a much better price. Excellent quality comparable to the Britta brand replacement!
I've been using this filter for a little over 2 weeks now & see no difference from the more expensive ones.
what can i say? it did the job and was cheaper.
