This is an excellent computer for the Price. Lightening fast with no glitches. For 478 bucks you get 8G memory, AMD A-8 2.90, 1TB hard drive and Windows 8. You can't beat that deal. Previously I bought the refurbed HP everyone is buying and the hard drive failed within the first couple of months. Not only that it was significantlly and disappointingly slower than this computer even when it was working properly. One minor downside is the monitor hook-up is the old VGA as opposed to the new VGI. Now this has nothing to do with this computer, but Windows 8/Internet Explorer 10 come with some major glitches. Yahoo Mail will not work with Ie10 (unless you use the old version of Yahoo Mail) and there is no solution to this bug yet. Also Win8 takes about 5 steps to shut down. Some computer nerds have come up with a workaround that allows you to shut it down in one press up the button, you can search for this on the Internet and is well worth it. The other glitch is it takes multiple stepss to get to your desktop also with Win8 which was designed with tablets/smartphones in mind. The nerds have come up with a workaround to this also but it is less than sastisfactory as it reduces the steps but adds a new step of always opening up with My Computer/Windows Explorer open which you then have to close. I found this workaround not worth it. Another glitch with IE10 is you can't resize the "open in new window" window and have it stay that size the next time you open it. The only workaround I have found is go to taskbar and click properties and click never combine windows. Anyway great computer but be aware of the Win8/Ie10 glitches.
