I waited a long time to buy myself a new HDTV, and I'm glad I waited for this one.. it has everything I wanted: lightweight, multiple HDMI inputs, super energy efficient, great contrast, smart dimming, thin frame, good sound quality and internet apps (Netflix is what I wanted). I mounted it on the wall and I've been rewatching all my favorite movies and shows, because this TV makes it like being in the theater again! Being able to use HDMI from both my Blu-ray player and my Magnavox HD-DVR keeps it so clean and simple, much less wires to worry about and an amazing picture. Lots of features in the picture quality menu to play with! Also the sound quality is excellent compared to others I've listened to, I leave it on the virtual surround mode but it is very customizable.
I can't recommend this TV enough!
I was looking for a 42" LED TV to replace my dead Sony LCD. The E420i-A1 seemed have everything I wanted: LED, 3 HDMI, 120Hz, Smart TV with WiFi, slim border (unlike many other Vizio TVs). The interface was very friendly and setup was a breeze. But the picture and sound quality were far below par. I spend an hour or two adjusting the settings to try to optimize the picture before surrendering to the fact that the quality was simply not very good. Double that disappointment for the sound which seemed to lack any bass. After one day of operation I returned the Vizio and bought an LG. For a little more I was able to get a 47" LG 47LS4500 from Walmart. It is an LED without the bells and whistles. But the picture quality is beautiful (and the sound is much better) -and isn't that what it's ultimately all about when it comes to a TV?
I searched long and hard for find a 42 smart TV at 500 dollars or below with a good rating. I am happy with the results although it seems many saw the same thing since this TV was backordered even from the manufactorer for several weeks. I would expect the price of this TV to increase because of its vast populatity.
My girlfriend just got this brand new Vizio 40' 1080p @120 Hz led smart tv... seemed like a great tv... however the first time we watched it there was a very loud buzzing sound coming from the speakers... we are on our way to return it now... it seems like a great tv... but from this tv i do not think vizio makes a great quality tv... despite what they tell you at store they are NOT a top brand...
