The Gold's "Extreme" medicine ball seems well made. The synthetic leather grips the hands well. I just received it so no idea yet how durable it really is. The ball feels heavier than the barbell equivalent. I like this concentration of weight because there is enough resistance for bicep & tricep curls which I usually use a 40 lb bar for. I can also get a decent shoulder press workout. Squats and lunges are other ideal exercise applications. I thought to use it for leg curls (hams & quads) but too heavy for hams (lower back feels vulnerable when gripping ball between ankles). My fitness profile: male, 51, avg build, avg strength, previous weight lifting experience.
I bought this medicine ball from a local Walmart a week ago. I was just doing my second workout with it and it already has a 6 inch split in the leather, and that was only 10 minutes into my 2nd workout with it! This item has no durability and is a terrible investment.
Great quality and price.
This ball is not well made. It split open along a seem shortly after buying it. And it was not being used in a ruff manner. Love the weight and feel of the ball. But poorly made.
Does the job of much more expensive medicine balls. Is a little softer than I would like but definately gets job done.
