Had an earlier version of Acer Aspire One with 11.6 inch screen and the size/weight was perfect when recuperating from surgery and taking on trips - although I used it all the time at home too. Needed to replace that once since it only had 1 gb of RAM......this one (with 4gb) was a great choice. It's so much faster, but still gives me the good size and light weight. I specifically wanted Windows 7 rather than 8 and it's getting harder to find something without 8 already installed. So, this little computer fit the bill perfectly and works great so far!
Note that this is called a laptop - but really is a notebook pc without the flash startup - so, it can't be called a notebook. It's a nice little pc for surfing the web - which is what I wanted it for. Pictures are nice on it and I really wanted Windows 7 operating system Not 8. I have just a couple of nit picky items - the arrow keys are a bit too close together, the tracking pad is a bit slow - its not bad - it just isn't what I am used to (I also have a mac) and the speakers are not the best. I actually like the small screen and how light weight the laptop is. Set up was a breeze. And, for the price - I would totally buy this pc again and I am very happy with my choice.
I bought this laptop two weeks ago and could not be more pleased. At first it was a bit slower than I expected given the Pentium processor and loading videos took forever (not to mention they would stop in the middle of playing in order to buffer). So, I cleaned off all the non-essential programs that came loaded on it. Now it flies! As someone who wanted a small, portable laptop to be able to work at Starbucks and Caribou, this Acer really fits the bill! The 11.6" screen is large enough for me, and the keyboard size is a welcome upgrade from my 10.1" Dell laptop that just died. I definitely recommend the Acer Travelmate for anyone on the go!
