I rather handle things this way than dealing with the in-store customer service people. Just go to the product assist website and put in your product info, file a claim, and check your email. Box it up, send it in, and get the funds to purchase a new one. HIGHLY recommended for portable DVD players. First set I bought through bestbuy lasted less than a year, next set bought through walmart lasted just over a year, but had the product care plan to replace it. Portable DVD players just don't last long. Rather spend extra $9 to replace than buy a brand new set every year. When you have twin 2 year olds, these are a must on long car trips.
