While this looks neat, I would NEVER get this for my own fish. Any fish needs at LEAST one gallon of water and this just does not suffice. Also, bettas need a heater to keep their water at a stable 78-82 degrees. This bowl is pathetic.
My son recently purchased this with his birthday money and I'm glad this is the one he picked. The bowl is glass, not plastic. I find the plastic scratches too easily and ages poorly. This kit is simararly priced as the plastic ones but much better quality. The LED light works well and isn't to bright, it makes a nice little nightlight in his room. Just remember it is glass and will break, as we found out three days after getting it when the cat pushed it off the shelf. The fish somehow survived and is now living in a measuring cup on the kitchen counter until we replace it. I won't hesitate to buy the same one but put it in a more cat proof area this time.
I purchased the beta bubble for my 5yr old daughter along with her very own beta she named Charlie... The very next day she had an idea to move the beta bowl with Charlie in it. Unfortunately she dropped the bowl which shattered everywhere. Charlie was fine so I put her in a glass of tap water using beta safe. I contacted customer support and they told me I couldn't purchase just the glass bowl alone...but they did send me a new one free of charge. I'm happy my daughter is and Charlie is back in her home...thanks to the awesome ppl at tetra.
This tank is great for bettas. For some reason my light dosn't turn on. Ihave to hold it it would have been 5 stars but the food just floats to the side out of his reach. It looks awesome 4/5 stars! :]
I have a male and now a female betta. Great tank, but food floats just a bit out of reach of the betta
