I actually wanted to buy this unit, but my Walmart said this would not be available until October 23, so I had resigned myself to getting the Icy Hot Tens with the tiny battery and the pads that didn't last as long. When I went to my Walmart, I was happy that this model was actually available and the Icy Hot Tens was sold out. It is $10 more, but after using the pads, I know in the long run, this unit will be cheaper because the pads are very sturdy and have lots of sticky stuff on them. Also, this unit uses triple a batteries and I have a boatload of them. I twisted my back last Thursday and didn't want to pay for a Chiropractor, but I work on my feet, so Friday was rough. I don't work the weekend, but could barely sleep Saturday night. I have been through tens many times with Chiropractors at $71 per treatment and that was when I was 27 and I am now 52. This unit was just about $40 and I was able to give myself 3 treatments to my lower back tonight. I was worried that it wouldn't be as powerful as the treatments I received at my Chiro, but I was cussing at level 4 which made me happy because there is a level 5. Well worth the money. I am impressed. Great instructions too.
