After a resent computer/systems crash and having to reboot from CDs (all 24 of them), this is definitely the easiest mode of backup. EZ to install and forget about unlike CD's... or flash drives that can easily be misplaced.
Plug and Play. No problems at all. Great value, however I got it for $10 cheaper at my local store as opposed to online. Check your local store prices first.
I purchased this product to store my music database on and then take it in the car and listen to it through the vehicle's USB connection. However, it does not work so I will be returning the product (if possible). The WD Passport is formatted in NTCS and I converted it to FAT32 per the vehicles owner manual so the WD Passport would work. I still cannot get the external hard drive to play in the car. The latest error message is "Files must be in MP3 format which it is. I'm able to use a jump drive with the same music files as the passport and it works. So I have no clue what the problem is.

Product great for storing music, photos, etc.
It just does not meet my expectations for what I want to use it for.
I can't really say how well this works as I bought 2 of them as gifts.
So far, I am Happy with my Purchase. This Hard Drive is much better than the one I had which Failed and lost all my Storage Items. This Hard Drive was a Good Purchase.
Hard Drive came on time and looked exactly the way it did on website. Worth the money and exactly what I ordered. Definitely satisfied customer!!
Works great for but I just have a couple of complaints
Complaint 1- The wire is too short. If you don't have room right beside your computer you have to set it on your computer. As far as I can tell they don't even make a longer wire and of course it has a special connection and you cant hook it to a usb hub or extension usb wire you are just stuck with a small wire
Complaint 2- Works great on Windows but Mac is iffy. It works most of the time but a couple of times it just lost all the data. I use it on Mac but I don't trust it on Mac.
Overall I like it and I do recommend it but I have two other brands of external HD's that are better.
