I have hardwood and tile floors throughout my house. I purchased this as a second vacuum for quick touch-ups in the kitchen and to keep downstairs so I didn't have to drag the heavier vacuum around. I have 6 cats and vacuum twice weekly. This vacuum has been great. It is very powerful, lightweight, and the attachments are adequate. There are wheels on the main attachment head, which makes it slightly more difficult to maneuver around on the hard floors than other canister hard floor attachments which easily move sideways instead of primarily forward and backward. The power is especially noticeable along the edge of baseboards and the small bag has lasted much longer than I expected. Other reviews have described it as "quiet", but I wouldn't say I've noticed it being significantly more quiet than my large canister (a Kenmore). I would highly recommend it for hardwood and tile, but it lacks a beater bar attachment and I can't imagine it would be satisfactory as a primary vacuum on carpeted floors. My main complaints would be that the cord is shorter than my other vacuum and I have to change plugs more often to cover the same area (not a deal-breaker, but still an inconvenience when you are trying to move quickly, especially with child plug protectors that need to be removed) and the cord retractor takes a little coaxing to get the last foot of cord into the machine. Overall, a great value for hard floors.
