Iv'e only logged a few hours of play time, but based on that, the Bass1400 is a solidly built, compact, good sounding, all-in-one sub. Being an all-in-one unit makes it much simpler to install. I installed it in a 1984 Corvette, which of course has minimal passenger compartment space. It's mounted at the rear of the car, on 1/4 inch board anchored to the interior fiberglass, below the window latch ( Dimensions of the box happen to be a perfect fit). It adds a definite thump to the bass. Mounting placement, on a solid surface, can make the difference between feeling and hearing the added bass. I set the filters to the lowest Hz, set the bass boost to 0db, and then added gain to suit my taste. I can actually feel deepest bass notes. If you want to create a bass "beast", rattling neighborhood windows as you roll down the street, this won't do. But if you want to add deep bass to your passenger compartment (and maybe the car in the next lane), this will do. Given my space constraints, I don't believe I could have done better. Just hope it stands the test of time... the only reason I didn't rate it 5 stars.
