On the surface, this is a funny, "feel good" movie about differences in upbringing and remembering who your are/where you come from. As an object lesson, this is a great story of struggle between who you portray yourself to be and the reality of who you really are. Unfortunately, the film makes an erroneous statement that if you are true to yourself others will love and accept you regardless. If ony this were true in the "real world". Great discussion starters with teens on Mel's choices, consequences and ultimately, why she chose one situation over the other.
