We needed a larger crate for our German Shepherd. The crate is constructed of very thin metal, which makes it somewhat flimsy. I would have thought that it would have been built sturdier. If you have a very active dog, that may chew or push on the sides of the crate, I'd recommend spending a few more dollars on a crate that is better built. If your pet isn't as active or isn't an escape artist, the crate should meet your basic needs.
I was not sure after reading the reviews for this dog crate but bought it anyway because it was in the price range we could afford. We have a 12 year old pit bull and a 7 month old pit/boxer mix puppy - both dogs fit in the crate very comfortably. The puppy is still chewing on things (including my door frames) and the crate was needed ASAP. Our dogs are well mannered/tempered so I am not worried about them breaking or bending the metal. The puppy has not shown any interested in chewing on the crate. They go to their crate on command and they actually like to lay in it even when it is not locked/required. We have not had to use the divider because our two dogs get along. It is very easy to pop up/put together and break down. It will be a great asset when we take the dogs with us on trips. I definitely recommend this product.
Poor quality gauged steel. Very light weight and the welds do not appear to be very strong.
