The unit worked great at 100 feet without any drop outs. It was used outside and it was in the line of site. Great unit.
This worked as advertised and setup was easy. It even has a radiofrequency sensor and emitter that you can attach to the transmitter and receiver so that you can control the base DVR or cable box with the remote from the room with the receiving TV.
Does not work with all devices. The receiver had no sound when I put the transmitter between the home theater and the main TV. I had to move the transmitter between the satellite reciever and the home theater. Strict HDMI compliance limits downstream HD devices to one! Fortunately the satellite receiver did not adhere to the standard. Once I moved it though, everything worked great.
I bought this kit hoping to hook up my Fios box to send signals to my tv next to my box in my living room and to my bar tv which i can partially see from my living room. The idea was to have both tvs showing the same channel for when we have friends over without having to pay rental fees to Verizon for another cable box. So I initially installed everything properly on both tvs and heard some volume on the bar tv and had a picture for about 2 seconds and then it went away. So after fiddling with whatever I could I decided to call Actiontec. So their nice support tech said my cable box wasn't compatible with this product. He then gave me a list of Verizon Fios Motorola boxes that were compatible with their product. So I went to Verizon and exchanged my box and came home and reinstalled everything and got a picture and sound for about 5 seconds and both tvs gave me a message saying what i was trying to do was not allowed. I updated firmware on actiontec's kit and everything. This product does not work with Verizon Fios even though Actiontec says certain models will work. I am returning my boxes and just going to pony up the extra cash for monthly cable box fees. On a bright note, Verizon is coming out with a media center in the near future. Sign me up.
