I live in North Georgia and fish year round. In the winter months, it gets pretty cold out on the water, and instead of bundling up - I wear a pair of long jon pants under the bibs, along with a long john top and a heavy weight sweatshirt. I also carry a fleece jacket incase the top jacket with this setup gets too hot. As far as fit... I'm 5-10, 185lbs with a 34" waist. If you have a little gut, a Medium is going to be a tight fit. It works ok for me, but it's pretty snug - especially in the crotch area. If you have a 34" waist, I would bump up to the large. If you want to wear layers that are thicker than long johns, I definitely recommend you get the Large size. I tried these on with blue jeans, and it was not very comfortable - too tight in the belly area and really too firm in the crotch. I tested the zipper to see how it would be when nature calls, and a larger size is needed to be able to get it done quick - otherwise it's nearly too tight to get the zipper up to get the business done. Overall it's a warm suit, but that was 60* weather when I tried it out. I also have a Striker Ice suit - that is definitely warmer than this one and cheaper.. Sizing on it is the same. I looked at the Frabill website for measurements and thought the medium would work - and it does- but boy it is snug to almost discomfort. I can still bend over, squat and walk around with ease, but the crotch area is just a little too tight for my liking.
