This rifle is possibly the best buy for the money out there! Out of the box accuracy was amazing holding right at .5 MOA!
You have to be careful in scope selection, unless you use an aftermarket rail mount, because of the short space provided by the factory mounts. And the trigger is not the famous Savage Accutrigger, but it is easy to work on. Got a crisp/clean 3lb pull on mine with minimal fuss.
I'd highly recommend this rifle in .223 to anyone looking for a good long range varmint rifle!
(note: specs say it has a 4 round magazine...mine holds 5 rounds)
The rifle is one of the best values out there. The info says it takes 4 rounds in the mag however mine takes 5 and works flawlessly. It had a black stock but three cans of paint and a little effort matched the camo needed for my area. I do recommend cleaning before the first time you fire it because there were some metal cuttings that came out when I cleaned mine. Shoots well- the trigger was a little heavy but with very little work it can be taken to 3 or 4 lbs. Mine is not broke in yet, but it was easy to sight in and I think it will get even better once I have shot about 100 rounds.
