I've been reading and collecting DK books since the early 90's, and while I won't comment on some of his more recent work, I love the older stuff.
As I was cataloging my bookshelves, I noticed that a handful of books were missing, either due to being loaned out and not returned, or due to being lost in a move many years ago.
Anyway, I received this for Christmas from Hubby.
The story is as good as I remember. Unfortunately, there is a flaw in the publishing that I remember from my OLD copy--Starting around 186 or so, the pages (and story) skip to page 517! You are reading about one thing, then go to the next page and BAM! you are 300 pages further ahead. This continues for about 20 pages or so (The story continues from page 517 to 537ish), then you are back to page 215ish, BUT YOU HAVE LOST 20 PAGES OF THE STORY. I have never known what happens on those 20 pages, but I can guess by continuing reading. It's annoying, and for some people, it can tick them off and cause them to return the book. I'd buy another for 'collecting' but I bet there are millions of copies out there with this 'flaw'.
I just thumbed past the Future Pages and got on with the story.
