Just shot this gun today for the first time ( shot 150 rounds )
Gun had tight grouping and handled well, The Magnum round has a little more kick and costs a bit more than the 22LR. But it was fun to shoot
Bought new at WalMart. Have used it for about three months. Have had exellent results with
Winchester 40 grain Super XT and 45 grain DynaPoint. Maintains a very tight Minute of Angle
at 100 yards with no wind. Once zeroed, it stays zeroed. Outstanding varmit rifle... groundhogs, bobcats, possums, racoons. For coyote: head or heart/lung shots only. Accuracy is supurb for the quick set up for the 25 to 75 yard snap shots. The rifle tricks out very well with a $15 sling and a $20 Tasco Rimfire Scope. A cartridge costs less than 10 cents. Inexpensive fun while keeping the shooting eye in practice, especially compared to some of the higher scale calibers.
This rifle is the most accurate 22 wmr for its price range. Micro groove rifling and the adjustable trigger are a deadly accurate combination with the 22 inch barrel. A very nice rifle even prettier in the wood stock! Make sure you get a high power scope with at least 16 power so you can make the long shots this rifle is capable of.
Out of the box, it was dead on at 50 yards and 1-1/2" left at 100 yards. Very fast and accurate using Winchester 30 grain VM and Remington 33 grain. This was done with open iron sights NO scope. Grouping were amazing at 50 yards, they were under 3/4" and at 100 yards, they were around 1-1/4." I am mounting a Tasco 3x9 by 40mm and I am expecting even better results. It is so accurate on iron sights, I purchase Redfield high see through scope ring so at close range I have the option of both sights. This is extremely important when shooting at night.
