Worth the money
I needed to store a boat with Wakeboard tower and this was just right. The height and width were perfect. Everything fits well and looks to be a very strong carport.
The best all aaround
I bought this about a month ago, and it is very nice and sturdy. Makes a great garage. Just make sure that you have a couple of friends to help you. One person cannot do this by themselves. It is a 3 man project. Once it is completed, you will be very satisfied with it. Very sturdy and well made. If you want a drive through, then you should order the rear zippered door panel. I highly recommend this Garage to anyone on a budget. I can only give this a 5 star rating, because, there are no more stars. Great buy. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Overall good design
I've had this for 14 months and it went through a pretty rough winter with no issues. It sits in the sun most of the day as there are no trees over it so it does get extremely hot inside during the summer. I leave the door open most times so never rigged up the roll-up system that is provided. It needs to be well anchored as it is big enough to be a sail. I knew this from experience with other garages. It tends to let the snow slide right off without needing to chase it with a broom. Only disappointment is the lifespan of the cover as the other Garage-In-A-Box I have lasted much better (frame design is better on the Garage-In-A-Box SUV however). The cover just split after a heavy rain (no wind) the other day. My only complaint so far.
Garage in box
Accomodates my military vehicle nicely. Gives me plenty of room to work on my 1-1/2 ton truck. Plenty of head room. Room enough to open the doors on my truck. Only disadvantage is anchors provided very hard to set in rocky soil. Pulleys provided inadequate to lift the door opening when tube filled with sand. Needed to buy pulleys to work properly. Overall happy with purchase. Need to see how stands up to new england snowstorms.
I was impressed!
I was impressed with the quality of this unit. It was very easy to set up and install. The unit was very sturdy and usefull. The instructions should of been more clear about the to end doors but other than that it was a great purchase.
TOOK 4 OF US NEARLY 8 HOURS TO SET UP, LIKE THE NEW TIE DOWNS THAT KEEP THE CANVAS TIGHTER. NOT SO HAPPY ABOUT THE WAY THE DOOR TIES DOWN, WISH IT WOULD NOT LIFT SO MUCH IN THE WIND, AFRAID IT WILL RIP IT.
rip after 4 months of being up
I bought this December 1, 2016, Due to winter, did not put up until the end of April 2017. It has been up 4 months and now has rips in the top of the canopy. He really loves the size and overall pretty sturdy, just need new fabric top. Does anyone know if that is carried by the warranty?
I bought this a month ago. And it was decent to put together. Doesn’t make sense to put it together to take it apart to do other steps. I set this up on mafia blocks so I could get 2ft more height from it. Works great and is a good way to secure down
I think I win for the shortest life.
I bought this garage in late April of 2017. My wife and I got it setup mid may. we bought it to give shelter to our boat in the winter. The frame design is great. We were happy to find a shelter tall enough and designed to have the snow slide off. Unfortunately 6 months after putting it up this spring, it has failed to even come close to lasting to the first snow. We are very disappointed. The top ridge of the cover split right down the center. now cold weather is approaching and we have nowhere to house our boat. After reading so many similar cases to mine with the top splitting I wish I would looked elsewhere for a good solution that would last more than 6 months.
Poor QC on frame holes, terrible cover durability
Purchased this garage a little over a year ago. Frame assembly holes were misaligned and had to be re drilled. Recently noticed a tear in the main cover where the roll up door rope connects to the cover. Upon further inspection I discovered that little to no pressure on the cover with my finger will make a hole. Cover will not last another winter.
ok i bought this from walmart.com...finally had time to put it up...wow the room is amazing for the price you pay. the quality is outstanding. a ton of nuts and bolts ..but very sturdy. i had a king canopy 10 x 20 lasted for 4 years at only 200 bucks was also a great buy. the shelter-logic design far exceeds quality for the money you pay. it took about 4 hrs with 2 people. very well worth it. very pleased with garage-in-a-box...thank you walmart and shelter-logic!!!
Great purchase, excited to see it installed.
I haven't set up the shelter yet. The product appears to be well made and easy to install. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
instruction book is hard to understand. Tiedowns would be nice to stop swaying when wind blows. Other than that I hope it holds up.
IT IS WHAT IT SAYS GARAGE IN A BOX
I BOUGHT THIS TO COVER MY BOAT AND ASSEMBLED EASY ABOUT 3 HRS WORKING WITH MY WIFE,
Well built packed very good, small box but very heavy, easy to assemble, had no help should have at least 2 people for top cover. So far so good after I finished next day we had 50+ mile per hour winds and still there.
Good buy overall
Use as SUV Garage
Excellent! Great value!
I have had mine for 3 winters in northern Michigan, and we moved it to our new home, my son assisted getting it up before winter struck. It held up well until my grandson left the door open and we encountered a high wind storm that tore some of it. I am ordering the replacement fabric and turning it to face north instead of west as that is the direction our strongest winds come from. All in all, it's done fantastic and I highly recommend it!
Works great for my full size ford 150 crew cab pickup short box but anything bigger you would need a longer one. The door rolls up nice but the only thing is I've had mine just over a year now and the cover is ripping at the top eve, not bad yet I just had to duct tape it for now but I would buy another one in a heart beat, very easy yo put up and assemble, I'm actually going to buy another one real soon thank you Earl
Good product, not perfect
Just finished putting it together. The end wall should have something at the bottom to weigh down the wall, it sways in the wind. You will need 3 people with (3) 8 foot ladders to place the main cover up and over the top to the other side. 2 people can put up the frame and both the front and back walls. The quality is quite good. I don't like the exposed ratchets on the four corners. Hopefully will last a good number of years in the northwest.
This is a good product!
I bought this garage over 3 years ago when I moved to Maine, and was compelled to write a review today after digging out of a blizzard. This was the third blizzard that this garage has gotten me through. Today the snow was up to the roof when I got there to check on it. I make sure that I knock off any snow that doesn't come off on its own but other than that I don't do anything. I've gotten my monies worth and Am really happy that I got this garage.
