Trying to replace wheat from my diet, I thought I'd give this rice bread a try.
Man, even the thought of this stuff now makes me shudder. Dry, mealy and simply awful in texture, the stuff doesn't really have a taste. I tried using it for toast, hot dogs, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and tuna sandwiches.
Just dreadful. It's understandably expensive, as it isn't a household item, but yuck.
(I wound up using the final loaves to make a poultry dressing, like turkey stuffing.) Never again. You've been warned.
Not the best bread. But when lightly toasted, it tastes okay. There are loaves of bread that taste MUCH better than this, I'll admit, but those need refrigeration and cost 2x as much. These are acceptable and are shelf stable. Quality does vary between batches, though, so some packs taste more "stale" than others. But Walmart has some of the freshest tasting/smelling ones I've tried.
Totally agree with the other one-star review. Imagine grinding up some dry, uncooked rice adding a little water, packing it and letting it dry. That's what it seems like they did w/this bread. Chalk wouldn't be much different. So dry and bland. Never again.
has no flavor , heavy and hard as rock, not soft and tasty.
I thought it was a brown bread; I hate it I wasted my money
