- 5 out of 5 stars review7/16/2020I'm a single mom and over the years, I've taught myself to take care of as many projects projects as I can in order to save money, learn to take care of things myself and to teach my son car and home maintenance. When this product became available, I ordered it with a specific project in mind...I had no idea how addicting it was going to be!! I have been using it EVERYWHERE!! I have used it around pipes,, both indoor and outdoor, around my dryer vent to prevent critters from getting in through the gaps, I used it around my shed doors, all around the perimeter of my house where I saw gaps. I literally went "looking" for areas to use this product - I wanted to use the entire can at once because I felt using it at a later time might not be as ...
OH YEAH! GREAT STUFF!!
BlackSheepIncentivized Review - 5 out of 5 stars review7/20/2020We used this stuff before and were happy with the results so I snapped up this can when it became available. It's not for tiny cracks but expands pretty big. And once the can is open, you should use it all up because the straw and such become clogged and solid because it cures rigid and can be trimmed, sanded, stained, and painted. So think and plan before use. Fills seals, and insulates gaps up to 1 inch. It creates an airtight, water resistant seal and sticks very well to building materials on both interior & exterior. Wear gloves, can is 1x use only, foam can be razor-cut. It was a great help when we redid the walls in the pumphouse.
Expands greatly
bxbxIncentivized Review - 5 out of 5 stars review7/28/2020I had to drill a hole through my plaster wall to route a security camera cable and wanted to fill in around the poly tubing sleeve I put in there. I'm not a plasterer so didn't want to try plastering it over. This stuff expanded more than I counted for, but the excess is very easy to trim off. A cheap razor blade shop knife goes through it like butter. The nice thing is that when it was still soft it ran into a small spaces and filled in around my sleeve. I plan to put molding over the wire and then can paint the whole thing so I needed to see if paint stuck to it. I put a coat of latex primer on it and that stuck well and didn't melt the stuff. There are little bubble holes on the sirface where I cut it off that could either be plas...
Works well and as expected
FCIncentivized Review - 5 out of 5 stars review7/25/2020I bought a house 11 years ago. Ever since then I had gotten water in the basement when it rained heavy. I decided to try filling the area with Big gap filler. I finally have a dry basement! It filled the area up against the foundation and stopped the leak! I'm super happy it worked so well. Saved me a fortune.
It works!
LesjeanIncentivized Review - 5 out of 5 stars review7/17/2020This gap filler works really well for drafty windows, outside spots where water can get in and many other uses. I put some around my windows and outside water spigots. You only need a small amount because it enlarges the amount approximately 3 times. Great stuff Gap Filler turns into a dry foam and keeps out water and air. I also used it at the base of my walls in my garage to keep out cold air in the winter. Try this and it should reduce electric bills and you will save yourself some money.
Great Stuff
GENLIncentivized Review - 5 out of 5 stars review7/15/2020I found a gap under my bathroom sink. When we bought our house it had a full remodel already. We had started to notice some less than perfect fixes in places you don't always look like under sinks and things. This was hidden behind a cabinet with drawers. But when I looked for my makeup I spotted it. It was a rather large gap around the sink pipes. And as anyone knows a gap in wallboard can mean escaping heat and entering cold air. So i decided this was a great place to give it a try. This stuff worked AMAZINGLY I just kept spraying a bit at a time till I saw it rising slowly out of the hole. It expanded to fill the gap well. I felt no more air coming from the hole. I was wondering if it was a one time use can or if it could be used aga...
Works great for quick fixes.
Crazymama1978Incentivized ReviewSupplier ResponseDear Crazymama1978, Thank you for your feedback. We are glad to hear that the product worked well for you. - 4 out of 5 stars review7/25/2020I filled a small gap in the wall of my garage using GREAT STUFF Gap Filler and was surprised how easy to use it was. The long angled tube attachment has a small enough diameter get into small gaps. The foam really fills it in. Once you spray it out of the tube it really starts to grow "and fill" and continued to expand for a couple hours. It was a bit tacky for about 24 hrs. Although the foam dries firm, it is still a bit pliable. I think its great that you can trim, buff and paint it. There were no directions on the bottle for possibly re-using the can and tube again. Although I really tried to clean the tube after use, I was unable to get any more foam out of the can after a few days. It would have been nice to use it again at a later tim...
Easy to use
Nightowl44Incentivized Review - 4 out of 5 stars review7/28/2020This is a very useful product. Perfect replacement for when the alternate would be a lot of calk. I used it to fill gaps in windows and was able to then sand and paint over it. I have used it inside the house so I am not sure if this can be used outside and will withstand extreme heat, rain or cold. Straw makes it easy to get to hard to reach surfaces. One thing I would like to mention is that the foam expands quickly and becomes big so this product is not meant to be used to fill small cracks.
Useful product
AKMahIncentivized Review - 4 out of 5 stars review7/23/2020The Great Stuff Big Gap filler does Just what it says it does! It fills the gaps! This can has filled the crap under my front door with ease and I've also been able to use it to fill the spaces around the lighting fixture holes in my garage and other various gaps to the outside of the house. It has surprised me how versatile this has been. Super easy to use and a little bit goes a long way.
Great fill
DaynaD68Incentivized Review - 4 out of 5 stars review8/25/2020This works to fill large gaps but be prepared for a mess. It works the same as the other Great Stuff formulas by expanding to fill gaps, but it drips if it's not on a flat surface. You have to use acetone to clean up until it has hardened (cured). After it has cured, you can sand it or use a serrated blade to remove any excess foam. And be prepared to lose a lot of foam if you don't have a large job because once the foam cures in the dispensing tube, you can't use it any more. It does what it's supposed to do well, though.
It's messy but it works.
pattiemeltIncentivized Review - 5 out of 5 stars review7/24/2020Works perfect! I got this to use in our DIY bathroom remodel. It was used to fill in areas around the under sink pipes where there was some openings to the wall, in addition to sealing the space around a door leading to the exterior. Didn't take too long to dry and worked out for what we needed.
Gap filler
EmIncentivized Review - 5 out of 5 stars review7/16/2020I have several woodpecker holes that have been pecked into my fence posts, argh, and this product filled them in nicely. (And yes, I absolutely made sure the hole was vacant). Also a big crevice in one of my favorite trees needed filling as well. I have never used spray foam before and whereas it filled the voids sufficiently, I think I was expecting it to expand more than it did. Again, I have nothing to compare it to, so.... The only gripe I might have is that once the nozzle was removed, I really couldn't clear or clean the tube for future use. Not sure if there's a way around it, but I'll be curious what happens when I try to use it again. For now though, job well done.
It worked for what I needed
JanniperkIncentivized Review - 5 out of 5 stars review7/23/2020So for the longest time the window in my basement has had cloudy plastic witih painters tape around the edges to "seal" it. When I got the Gap Filler I removed all that and simply sealed the edges so I could finally see through the window and let some light in and not have one window with tape on it and one without. The nozzle attachment went on easy enough as you just screw it in (also keeps it from popping off). And it was as easy as point and squeeze. I ran a bead down each gap on each side of the window and the next day it was fully expanded. Then I used a regular knife, not even a razor (although probably would have been the better tool for the job) and trimmed it fairly easily. At some point I will hit it with an actual razor and clea...
Easy to Apply with little experience
BrianEIncentivized Review - 3 out of 5 stars review7/17/2020The Great Stuff Big Gap Filler is really supposed to be used for big gaps. It expands exponentially after application...much more than competing products. After it dries, it can be cut down, basically carved, with a sharp knife or razor. Plan your projects carefully and apply the foam all at one time. Next day use is significantly less successful as the product very, very slowly comes out of the nozzle. Another good feature of this product is the color...light beige. Other competitors seem to always be bright yellow.
Good product!
NorgeblondeIncentivized Review - 5 out of 5 stars review7/18/2020I used this to fill holes in the wall caused by my cable company- air was coming in through these holes. After putting the gap filler, no more air could come in and it completely sealed the holes. You can paint over this stuff too ! It works very well. Keep in mind it does expand as it cures so don't use more than you need !
Works great !
JenIncentivized Review - 4 out of 5 stars review7/17/2020I got my can of GREAT STUFF Big Gap Filler and needed to start using right away. I have some gaps in bird boxes on my shop that is allowing wasps to build nests inside of it. The can comes with a nozzle that you attach to the can. It is easy to attach and use. The foam comes out easily but can drip some, so be careful where you spray and make sure you have a tarp or something underneath to catch drippings. It does seal up a crack or gap pretty good. It for sure takes practice to use. You should probably have some gloves that you can throw away after use. This stuff adheres to everything. You should smooth it out as soon as possible to suit your finish and final look. And remember to read the directions. I somehow managed to get some on my h...
Great for big gaps or holes!
vcwaltersIncentivized Review - 5 out of 5 stars review8/31/2020I built garden boxes out of pallets and the were perfect except..... either I had to cut slats to fill in tha gaps on the sides or just allow the soils and fertilizers slide out during watering. This stuff is great!!! It said it could fill 3 inch gaps and that's exactly what I needed! Unconventional use but I'm sure I'll find more uses!
Creative uses
RiffIncentivized Review - 2 out of 5 stars review7/20/2020Construction crew left large gaps between sliding door and ceiling. Insects were coming in through holes. Was hoping this would fix it. Unfortunately this stuff would not stop expanding and dripping all over the door, floor, etc. I had to keep wiping it off but it just get expanding and dripping. I was very frugal with how much product I used but even a small amount expanded endlessly! There's no instruction on how long you have to ventilate! The toxic smell did not go away! No instruction on how to dispose of can! It says not to exceed 90 temps or will explode. It's obviously hotter than that outside so how am I supppsed to throw 2/3 full can away?? I wore a mask & had slider open but still got dizzy using this. It left a horrible mess beh...
messy disaster
meIncentivized ReviewSupplier ResponseThank you for sharing your concerns with us regarding Great Stuff™ Insulating Foam Sealant products. We apologize for any in... - 4 out of 5 stars review7/19/2020Like I said this item can't be reused unless you put thin wire or something else in the tube so it doesn't get clogged. I never had the chance to take pics of it under my mobile home as they disappeared. Wear Gloves and it fills up great just a little messy
Good
TrahsytazIncentivized Review - 4 out of 5 stars review7/16/2020I ordered the Great Stuff Big Gap Filler to use primarily in a recently constructed end of porch she-shed which married wood with a rock formation and had gaps both large and small. We have already tried to use the the round foam insulation - similar to uncut styrofoam peanuts to jam into the crevices but they fell out quickly and enabled every bug in the neighborhood to enter, live and multiply. I was hoping the natural color of the foam would blend in and and stay on throughout the different seasons and weather elements. The remainder of the can I planned to use in the many remaining gaps around my house and hopefully enough will be left over. The application was easy - shook 60 seconds - attached the applicator nozzle and sprayed in ...
