Susan G Komen 26" Multi-Speed Cruiser Women's Bike, Pink
Great for plus-sized women & cancer research
I chose this cruiser after reading the positive reviews. It is wonderful! The look is awesome and it holds my "pluscious" body frame very well. I utilized the ship-to-store option and they put the bike together for free with no hassles, with great customer service. As someone recently diagnosed with breast cancer, I'm thankful that Wal-Mart offers this wonderful product. I HIGHLY recommend it for anyone!
Very comfortable, I LOVE IT!
I purchase a 26 inch mountain bike from Walmart and had to return it because it just wasn't comfortable. I AM out of shape, but I know the difference between being sore from being out of shape, and being sore from an uncomfortable bike. So I returned it. I had been eyeing the cruiser bikes that Walmart had, but I didn't want to get something without additional gears. So I decided to just search online and see if they even made a multi-speed cruiser. And voila! here it is! I immediately ordered it (site to store) and it was there before the promise date. The store put my bike together for me and I couldn't be more happy! It's very comfortable and I can ride it for hours. I am 5'1" and almost 200 pounds and it's great for me. I was also able to put an infant carrier seat to the back of this bike as well. I absolutely recommend this bike. The 7 speeds are perfect, and great for riding our bikes around the paths on the river. Oh, the pink IS more vibrant than the picture that they display, so I have posted a picture of MY bike with the bike seat (on the right side of the screen, just click on the picture to enlarge). Enjoy!
So, I debated back and forth on purchasing this bike for some time. I had a nice cruiser that was single speed and I loved it, but, I needed gears (should have listened to Hubby when we bought 1st one). Anyhow, this bike came in a day earlier than expected. I contacted the store to have them assemble it and it was ready the next day. The color is bright pink, it is not the pale pink they advertise (see my pics). I knew that coming in so I wasn't surprised and I do like the color. The stickers leave a little to be desired somewhat, I just removed the ones I didn't care for. One of them has a bubble and I am afraid to lift it and reapply (its not really abig deal for me though). I get so many compliments on the bike, my Hubby LOVES the bike and says its really sharp looking. I bought a basket (sold at walmart) "Bell Sports Quick-Release Handlebar Basket" and it fits great. Overall, this bike is a winner. The manufacturer could pay a little more attention to the details, but, for the price IT"S GREAT!!
I have had my bike for about two weeks and ride every day and am very satisfied. I had it shipped to my home. I was able to put it together with a little help from my husband without any problems. I love the color and have had many people tell me they like my bike even while riding in town. I haven't had any problems with the gears it shifts fine. I am very happy with this bike and would recommend it.
My twin sister and I each purchased the Susan G Komen 7-Speed cruiser. The assembly was a little challenging being that I didn't have a 10mm wrench (I did have a 15/16mm). But once we got the bikes together and we couldn't be more pleased. We also purchased Wald 139 baskets from eBay and horns too. We have owned the bikes since Feb. 24th 2013 and ride them five times a week.
Pretty in Pink
I had purchased a single speed cruiser bike that I returned and after reading the reviews on this one I tried it out and I had to get it. I took it for a ride as soon as I got home and I felt the difference. I'm 5'1 and I am able to get on and off with no problems. The handles on this bike work better for me. I did change the seat for a soft one and added a cup holder and a phone mount. I love the color and the matching pink chain too.
More than expected!
I bought this bike online shipped to home and I was thinking on asking for help to put it together and actually I am surprised I did it by myself with a little help of videos online for the breaks. The color of the bike is actually bright pink so if you are looking for the light pink color this is not for you. I also bought a basket and a bell and looks pretty nice as well as is a comfortable bike to ride, was definitely more than expected for the price.
For a hundred bucks what you expect. It's one of a kind looking bike. Where else can you find an all pink bike. I bought it for my wife and she loves it. Came shipped by ups. Box was beat up, but on the inside it was well packed. Except the way the handle bars were attached in packing. One spoke was bent. Will take you awhile to put together. Adjustments to brakes are the most difficult. After fenders are on make sure you loaded the two screws on top and then straighten fender then tighten. I rode it myself and it's great. Only issue I seen was the freewheel wobble. It's not the freewheel it's the hub being machines off center in the factory. Nothing you can do about that. But it doesn't affect the way it rides or shifting gears. The bike color is white and pink! Not silver/pink like it said
Hard to put together
This was delivered today and I couldn't wait to put it together. It was quit hard to put together. Some of the pictures in the instructions were not the same as the pieces on my bike. Had a hard time getting some screws undone. I didn't have the back rack either. But once I got it together and got it outside and took it for a ride I fell in love. It was is so nice to ride. The seat is nice and wide and doesn't hurt your bottom. Can't wait for the weather to warm up to ride it more!!
We ordered this bike for my wife to ride, and were pleasantly surprised when we picked it up. We paid $99.00 plus tax with free shipping to the store. When it arrived (a week early)we called the store and requested free assembly. The clerk courteously replied that it would be assembled and ready the next day. We were called, and picked it up the next day and were really surprised at the quality of the bike considering the price. It is painted up (tastefully) with the Susan G.Komen pink colors and verbage and yes, even the chain is pink! It has 26X2.125 whitewall tires, a large comfortable seat and 7 speeds controlled by a Shimano derailleur system. The handlebars are upswept and outward as most "cruisers" have. This bike is a good fit for riders of all ages including us "seniors". It is made in China and imported by Kent International. It has front and rear hand brakes, and full fenders to keep you from getting splashed. Overall, I think most people would be satisfied with this bike unless the color is an issue( pink with white trim).
This is the perfect all around bike! I had the bike shipped to my local store. When I got the email that the bike was ready for pickup, I called the store to have it assembled. The bike arrived earlier than estimated, and the assembler had it ready the next day. This bike is used for pleasure riding around town. I purchased a basket at the store that buckles onto the front making it really convenient for local errands, etc. If you're looking for a comfortable general riding bike, don't hesitate. Plus, they donate $10 to the Susan G. Komen cancer fund.
I absolutely LOVE this bike!!
I think I spent like a month reading reviews on different bikes.. This one caught my attention because there were a few ladies who stated the were on the heavier side. One woman said she is 320 pounds and the bike hold her good.. I was very worried to sit on a bike that would fall apart or tires that would pop. I've been riding my bike everyday now for a week without any problems.. I'm 306 pounds and this bike holds me very good! The seat is super comfy too! Free assembly made it ever better!!!
Cute, but very flimsy
I bought this bike to go on regular bike rides, nothing crazy. But on the first bike ride, around the neighborhood, it was immediately bad. The breaks squeaked so loud everytime I used them. And they were squeaking between the tire and the break, so you can't exactly oil that...because your breaks won't work. Also, the seat would not stay in place if I moved around even a little. And as I was going up a small hill, I had to put everything I had into getting it up the hill and I thought the bike was literally going to fall apart. I thought that it might be me, since I hadn't ridden in years. But I got on my daughters bike and there was a huge difference in sturdiness. Anyway, I took it back and got a huffy mountain bike and I have taken it on an 8 mile long bike ride and it's SO MUCH better than the other bike. The one good thing I can say was that Walmart was really great about letting me exchange it.
at 59 yrs old, I love my BIKE!
it has been over 47 years since I rode a bike, but my grandson who is 7 always asks me to get a bike and ride with him. So this 59 year old Grandma did just that. Wal Mart put the bike together for me. At first I was rather scared, I thought I would fall....but I got on and have loved it ever since. I ride at least 2 times a day. its rides very nice, I am a bigger lady and it feels like the bike was made for me. If I continue to ride this much, I will be losing those pounds I have tried to lose for so long. I love my bike
Love the color and look of the bike. Dissapointed because on my third bike ride my right pedal came off and I couldn't get it back on. I had to walk it all the way home. Thankfully it wasn't too far. Hope to get it fixed. I think it was the person who put it together not the product itself.
Not What I Expected
Well I ordered this bike for my wife for Christmas since she stated multiple times she did not a major brand bike (such as one from a bicycle only store). So I thought this would be a nice bike so she could have her own for Christmas. The bike and its parts have numerous scratches and dents. At this point it's built but I'll see what she says Christmas morning about what I'll point out. The one front brake line that isn't installed was very difficult to install. The brake handle assembly or whatever it's called is a poorly made piece of material. The section that holds in the brake line is the most cheapest metal material I have ever seen and it was bent by the manufacture. I had to use a small screw driver to open it to let the brake line in and then try to bend it back into where it should be to fit back into the brake handle. What a disappointment for me to give this to my wife for Christmas.
Exactly what wife wanted; 7 gear beach cruiser
Big tires and easy to ride for my wife so she can keep up with our 10 year old son & I when we ride. 7 gears and had all the things she wanted, including big handle bars so she did not have to lean over, good padded seat, and big tires. The people who have seen it love the Susan Komen theme, and want to know where she got it.
