This would be my 3rd Nikon BDC. Excellent clarity in low light conditions. Setting up on a rifle is easy since every click moves the crosshairs lke it should. Only took me 5 shots to get dead center. BDC spot on is also a great tool to use with this scope because it tells you exactly what yard each circle below will shoot.
Mounted the scope on a Remington 700 .270. It was a tight fit and rear sight had to be removed or reversed. I chose to reverse it as it may be needed if the scope becomes useless for some reason. The 50mm objective rendered the "see through" mount unusable except for the necessary extra elevation from the receiver. Sighted in at 50 yds, which put the point of impact + or - 1.0" of line of sight from 25 yds. to 234 yds. Beyond that, the BDC will be used for confident shots up to 400 yds. However, shots like that are very unlikely here in the northeast. I also downloaded the supporting Spot On application to my iPhone. Only thing left to do is find a trophy buck, in season of course. Nice bright optics adjusted easily for my ageing eyesight. Sighted in easily, adjustments operated as stated, removed the scope and sighted in the iron sights, then replaced the scope to find is was still sighted in. Only time will tell how well the scope holds the sight-in through transportation, hunting and occasional trips to the range. Overall, a great scope value.
Best scope I've ever had for the money. I bought a new 300 wsm and talked to several people about ammo and scopes, ended up deciding on the nikon BDC and 180gr. Fusion, could not be more satisfied. Killed a nice 8 point first week of the season at 436yd. couldn't have done without the scope. would recommend it to anyone.
I just bought this scope today slapped it on top of my Marlin XL7 .270 and its been awesome. I gave it 4 stars because its only been on the gun for about 10 to 15 rounds and I want to wait and see how it does. I'm no expert on scopes but I immediately notice a more comfortable eye relief and very clear picture. I zeroed at 100 yards with relative ease which makes it nice because the BDC is set almost exactly to 100 yard increments with the post site being 600 yards. I will return and update this after deer season to give a better more experienced review.
